The other reviews of this book on Audible.com are less than flattering. I own a small business and have started several, and this book BLEW ME AWAY! It is extremely VALUABLE. Yes Michael Gerber gets a little touchy-feely at times but you have to apply Sarah's story to your own circumstance. I have a Masters Degree in Engineering and Business and am very logical and analytical, that is why Gerber's book makes so much sense. Just look around at businesses in your area. How many of them have been in business for 15 years? How many are family owned for 25 years? How many of those have grown beyond mom-and-pop size? My observation is "Not Many". All those Mom-and-Pops have created 80-hr-a-week jobs for their owners and something to pass on to their kids, but little more. Gerber gives you the insight to use the lessons of the McDonalds and IBM's of the world to re-fuel your passion and to BUILD YOUR business, not just work in it.

If you are a "company guy" or an In-trepreneur (works the system inside the company), then go listen to Jack Welsh or Lou Gerstner's books. If you are an Entrepreneur, then Gerber's E-Myth or E-Myth Revisited is a MUST Listen.

I've listened to it twice, and a third listen is in the queue soon!

    Enjoy!

  • Rule #1: The Simple Strategy for Successful Investing in Only 15 Minutes a Week!

In this book I'll show you how I turned $1,000 into $1 million in only five years, and then proceeded to make many millions more. I came to investing as a person who wasn't great at math, possessed zero extra cash, and wanted a life, not an extra three hours of work to do every day. Fortunately, I was introduced to The Rule.

OUTSTANDING BOOK... Like other people that wrote reviews, I had to buy the hard back for detailed STUDY, but the audible download allowed me the time to listen once through to get the main ideas. I read the hardback twice. Must have book... Simply the best book on investing i have ever read and one of the most useful books of all time. Phil Town has masterfully guided this boat down some treacherous waters. (listen to chapter one and you will know what I am talking about)... Can't write any more, I have to go research three companies ;-)

We all want to have our message heard. In Bang! Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval tell us how. They and their talented colleagues are the brains behind a host of memorable and highly successful ads, from the enormously successful AFLAC duck to the irresistibly sentimental "Kodak moment" to Herbal Essences' outrageous "Totally Organic Experience." Kaplan Thaler and Koval offer savvy advice and proven strategies for getting out a loud, clear, attention-grabbing message about any product or service.

If you have a marketing budget over $20M a year, then this book could be good for you. The rest of us cannot afford to pay millions to make people laugh or just know that we exist. I felt that the whole book was one big advertisement for the authors firm. "look how good We are", and worse yet "Look how great I am". The rabbit trail into organizational consulting and office arrangement was mind-numbing. I found myself yelling in the car and wondering if I had something better to listen to.

If you manage creative people - Get the book
If you have millions to blow on comedy - Get the book
If you are interested in investing so your ad agency can win CLEO's - Get the Book
If you need to generate revenue, reach new customers, engage viewers, listeners, readers, or existing customers, listen to Seth Godins books. Far more practical for all but the upper tier companies.
