The best-selling author of Writing Down the Bones and Wild Mind offers a Zen approach to creative writing to help you find your own voice. Goldberg offers techniques for getting to the essential speech of your mind, bypassing the internal editor, and developing the confidence to trust the writer within. This workshop is about writing - it is also about helping you penetrate your life and become sane. Goldberg is a poet, fiction and nonfiction writer, and a teacher.

Freeing the Writer Within might have been a good book, but this tape is not very helpful for anyone wanting to start writing. There might be 15 minutes of substantive information and the rest is listenting the class read their writings. There is even a several minute pause while the author has the students complete an exercise. I was very disappointed.

People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.
