I first read 'It' when I was about 16 years old (around the first time it came out in paper back), and it terrified me then, but I loved it. I have read it several times since then, but probably not within the past decade or so, although I've always had a copy of it on my bookshelf. It has remained one of my favorite Stephen King novels of all time.

We were taking a trip in September and I wanted a nice, long novel to listen to on the plane and the other travel portions of our trip, and because I love this story, and based on the reviews by other listeners, I decided to make this my vacation listen.

I have not even finished listening to the entire novel yet (this is a very long story at almost 40 hours), but I had to write a review to say that Steven Weber does the most phenomenal, amazing, detailed job of narrating this twisted and terrifying tale. The different voices he uses for each character, including that of Beverly and the few other female characters in this story (one of my favorites is Eddy's mother, and as adult Eddy, his equally neurotic wife), is just astonishing. You know who each character is just from the voice he uses during normal narration, but where he really shines is when he is voicing one of the "Trashmouth" Tozier characters, or the painful stutter of "Stuttering" Bill Denbrough, not to mention the various accents of the novel's other characters. The different voices that he is capable of really absorb you into this story and bring it to life; the voice he uses for the different incarnations of "It" are truly terrifying.

I would highly recommend this audio book to anyone that loved this novel as a reader, but I would also very highly recommend it to anyone that has never read the book. Mr. Weber is a fantastic narrator, and I will actively seek out other works that he has contributed to based on his reading of this novel alone.
