    However, If you are looking to learn about Frederick Douglass' life and accomplishments as an adult you won't get that from this book.
    Having said that, this book is excellent. It gives a first hand account of the brutality of slavery without being overly graphic or depressing.

    My next step is to find other books that chronicle Frederick Douglass's life in the adult years.

    Listening to this book makes one wonder if the news media ever gets anything right. I remember watching hours of coverage on this story when it happened. After reading this book I feel as though nothing I saw on TV was the even close to the truth. This book is so in depth and interesting. It takes you into the minds of the killers. It does not in anyway glorify them. It just shows how troubled and sad they were and how people like this can live among us completely un-noticed.
    It also shows how very trusted news sources and jump to outrageous conclusions before knowing all of the facts. Anyone who remembers this sad period in our history should read this book.

    I'm a big fan of Michael Palmer and this is another good book. The narrator does a good job. Part 2 keeps you on the edge of you seat as the story really starts to unfold.

    You will laugh and cry. The narrators are extremely talented and help bring the story to life.

    I really wanted to like this book. I purchased it in early 2010. I tried to listen to it back then and the over the top, flowery language was just too much. I couldn't even concentrate on the story.
    In April 2011 I decided that it deserved another try.
    Unfortunately, the result was the same. This book just didn't work for me.

    As a Chicago native I've always known about Frank Lloyd Wright. Although interested in understanding more about his work, I wanted a deeper look into his personal life and his notorious relationships with various women throughout his lifetime.
    I admit I didn't finish listening to this book because it just seemed to focus so much on his work.
    If you're a true architecture buff this book is definitely for you. Otherwise you might want to look for another book on FLW's life.
