When proud Roselyn Longworth is auctioned off at a dinner party to the highest bidder, she dreads passing from one cruel man to another. But Kyle Bradwell proves himself to be a true gentleman and an even more insatiable lover, and Roselyn finds herself succumbing to his seductive grip - one that demands her complete surrender.

I did not think the current rating of this book is doing it justice and should be in the 4+ stars. Lady Rosalyn finds herself in a nightmarish situation, being auctioned by a sadist viscount to his friends. Kyle Bradwell was an unlikely guest and the only person who interceded to help her. As the story continues, we see how an untitled hero full of integrity and strength of character continues to clash with a sadist and cruel man who uses his noble rank in the most despicable and self serving way. I particularly liked the exploration of the difference of classes and their impact on the relationship between a ruined lady and the son of a miner. I also enjoyed the pace of the story, the building of trust between the main characters, the eccentricity of their helpful friends and the final confrontation with the villain. This is my first book for this author and I'm now a fan. The narrator was pretty good as well.
