A very good book, at the start, but quickly became too cheeky and new age-y for my taste. Not in the sense that music is esoteric, but in that Wooten's ideas begin to spread into non-music. The adventure into mystical oneness gets tiring and made the book run on. Overall, though, a lot of good info on thinking about music differently than our instructors would teach. Although, his belief that we don't think about language when we speak and so we needn't think about music to play, seems a little false, since Victor is speaking beyond the element of a newbie to the instrument.

Sounds like Jeff Foxworthy, but no joking here. This book will make you excited for spring to get the garden going and will encourage you to start living the way our grandparents did. I haven't fought the environmental fight in a long time, but Joel is encouraging me to get back on it, but with a different approach; one through historical common sense, like self-provision. A truly great book!

If you're a guitarist; meaning you have one and are interested in it, this book is for you. A great history of the guitar, framed with the building of the authors acoustic, spans from the beginnings to the new century. Well worth ever cent, I didn't want it to end and am now looking for another book to follow this up with.
