The narrator's voice is so boring and his style of reading so slow that I was unable to get into hearing the book. What a waste of money!
The performance detracts from a good book. The people reading have very fake Jamaican accents and its very distracting and sounds foolish. This problem is detrimental to an otherwise great book.
Yes, especially because its autobiographical and the author tells her story in her own voice - she does a really good job. Typically I don't like when an author reads his/her own book, but in this case its really well done.
Can't immediately think of one...
I have all her books in print but got turned off of her when I could not find alignment with advice she offered to the public and reports about her life that leaked to the media. Now I understand and really appreciate her. It brings to the fore something I have always told myself, "watch the message and not the messenger." In this case, anyway, the messenger has been rehabilitated making the book an interesting and engaging read. Iyanla again has my attention.
Rising triumphant to the foot of a new mountain.
Yes, as a matter of fact I have already listened to this audio book no less than six times. I find it inspirational and really interesting, and I am encouraged to take on my life on a whole new level - its resulted in me really exploring other spiritual books and teachings, take up yoga as a practice, and engage in an inquiry of my purpose on earth.
No, but I think the narration here is superb - excellent really.
Definately - the book is fairly long, but I could not get enough of it. I have even gone to get the hard copy, the kindle version, and some other writings of Yogananda.
This is a very good thesis, but so poorly read, its painful.
One can even hear the narrator making unedited commentary within the body of the story. He often sounds like he is tired and out of breath. I think they were very stingy and cheap to have this man narrate the book...I feel like I wasted my money because I cannot listen to another sentence from the inept narrator. -0 stars...
I really wish I could return this audio book...REALLY POORLY NARRATED.
