All good things must come to an end, Constant Listener, and not even Stephen King can write a story that goes on forever. The tale of Roland Deschain's relentless quest for the Dark Tower has, the author fears, sorely tried the patience of those who have followed it from its earliest chapters. But attend to it a while longer, if it pleases you, for this volume is the last, and often the last things are best.

King is obsessed with this series and doesn't seem to know how to end it. It gives the feeling more and more of some kind of exorsism for him. Like he HAS to write it and end it even if it isn't any good. The first book was great and the world he created so real that the last half of this series was a real let down. It was supposed to be his great series, but the whole of the series takes away from the power of the first book instead of adding to it.

The next-to-last novel in Stephen King's seven-volume magnum opus, Song of Susannah is a fascinating key to the unfolding mystery of the Dark Tower.

This series seems to be a great idea that has lost its focus. King sometimes has a real problem letting go and ending a book (or series). This series drones on and on like he doesn't want it to end. The map seems incomplete in his mind and this is just filler. If you've gone through the others in the series, you have to go through this one as well. Just don't expect too much

King CAN be a wonderful writer and this one shows it to the fullest. Easily one of his best. A cast of characters you wish you could actually meet and a feeling of loss when the book ends.

A good addition to a wonderfull series. So unlike, yet classic Koontz. Engaging characters and story with a more passive approach to the horror and violence from other Koontz books. Odd is one of the best characters Dean Koontz has ever created. Someone most of us would love to actually know.
