Twelve miles above the Pacific Ocean, a missile strikes a jumbo passenger jet and leaves the flight crew either crippled or dead. This is the story of how three survivors must achieve the impossible and land the plane. Master storyteller Nelson DeMille and veteran pilot Thomas Block collaborated on Mayday, the most terrifyingly realistic air disaster thriller of all time.

    Also available unabridged.

This author never fails to write exciting, fast moving, thought provoking novels. As usual, he includes enough fact to make the fiction frightening. This is every fliers nightmare- an incapacitated flight crew. It makes you want to check the flight manifest to be sure there is a seasoned pilot in the passenger section before boarding! And the liability carrier??? I'm sure ,while probably not verbalized, there isn't a carrier out there who hasn't been conflicted faced with overwhelming financial responsibility for a disaster. I highly recommend this book, as I do any of this authors' efforts

When a midshipman plunges six stories to his death, the U.S. Naval Academy begins investigating an apparent suicide. But there's a bizarre twist: the young man's body is found wearing undergarments belonging to Midshipman Julie Markham, a senior at the academy.

Greg Rossvanes says: "Talk about edge of your seat!"

    Overall

Darkside is an exciting trip into what one can only hope is mostly fictional version of the Naval Academy. The reader is taken to a fictional (again one hopes) worst case scenario of all of the rules, regs and traditions of the academy applied to effect deceit, cover-up and CYA. I found it very entertaining and engaging. It was hard to turn off!!
