In his bravest and most challenging book yet, Seth Godin shows how we can thrive in an economy that rewards art, not compliance. He explains why true innovators focus on trust, remarkability, leadership, and stories that spread. And he makes a passionate argument for why you should be treating your work as art. Art is not a gene or a specific talent. It's an attitude, available to anyone who has a vision that others don't, and the guts to do something about it.

What did you love best about The Icarus Deception?

I have listened to all of Seth Godin's book and have to say this one is my favorite. It appeals to the artists in all of us and reminds us that you too can create art. A great book for business people, musicians, bloggers, writers and anyone who would like to create something for the sake of creation.

Life is the ultimate game of hide and seek... and the good news is that you're it! With the combination of playful irreverence and penetrating insight that made him a legend in Western philosophy, Alan Watts investigates the surprisingly liberating concept of "the universe as play" found at the heart of Hinduism, Zen, and other wisdom traditions.

I had never heard of Alan Watts. I've heard many other philosophers like Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and others explain eastern/western spirituality, but the way Alan Watts explains it is very easy to understand and profound. I would have to say this is one I'll listen to several times.

The key to ultimate achievement has very little to do with your education or skill level. The secret to accomplishing great things is simple: find and pursue the kind of work you are meant to do - your "purpose".

    "not what I expected"

I am a fan of Les Brown's material but I should have read the reviews below before purchasing this. I thought it was a new motivational talk Les had done, but it is not.

Lee Iacocca believes that leaders are made in times of crisis - such as today. In Where Have All the Leaders Gone? he offers his no-nonsense, straight-up assessments of the American politicians most likely to run for president in 2008. He also shares his lessons learned, and issues a call to action to summon Americans back to their roots in hard work, common sense, integrity, generosity, and optimism. Where have all the leaders gone? Lee Iacocca has the answer.

Michael says: "Good listen after the Bush bashing"
    "An Excellent Wakeup Call!"
    Overall

This is one of the best books I have listened to in years. It is a great eyeopener and wakeup call. It is one of those books which has a ton of facts, wisdom and common sense, which many of us have forgotten. I like the way Lee not only introduces the problems but also suggests possible solutions. A MUST LISTEN for the American People.
