Dickey's explicit writting is one reason ppl read his books, but typically he is a good story teller as well. This audiobook was ok. The narrator did a good job with all the characters, I just wonder if I would have liked it better if I would have read it in print?
I don't have much to say Kresley and Petkoff have yet to disappoint. These are automatic downloads! Hop to, go buy it!
Great sad story. This writter makes everything so vivid. The narrator is good. Worth a listen!
This book was a pleasure to listen to. I'm not sure if it should be considered part 2 to beautiful bastard because it definitely stands alone. The characters had depth and this book has good humor, not the lol kind, but the kind that gives you a genuine chuckle or smile. The scenes are definitely hot and ladies it has the awww factor. But the key to a good audiobook is the narrator. This is the first book I've listened to with 2 and they did an excellent job. The brittish accents were well done, but I think Mr. Cole had trouble turning it off... Also, these narrators didn't sound like they were trying too hard. I can't stand a book when the narrator tries to sound too sexy or sauve- irks the hell outta me! Please listen to this book, it's worth it.
The story's heroine was truly irritating. I like to feel my emotions stir when I read and I don't mind being at odds with the characters, but to only feel annoyance is not the move! At times she was just down right stupid. While the story is written ok, I felt the story was swiss cheese- very easy to see through. Also, I'm not a fan of this narration. Compared to others, Ms. Gilbert was too flat... Wish I hadn't used my credit, but definitely would not have wanted to pay. With all that said I will probably listen to the sequel just to see how the story continues- crazy right?... Can't explain that one folks. I won't spend a credit or money, will wait until there is some sort of sale...
This was an okay listen. When I was done I didn't have any overwhelming feelings in either direction- love or hate. I think what holds this book above water is the narration. The story line is decent, but predictable. I found myself giving a half hearted cheer in certain parts of the book...
My first Lisa Gardner novel, i'm impressed. Definitely not see through, meaning -kept me intrigued throughout the entire story even when I figured out the who, but not the why. Elisabeth Rodgers gave great narration, very dynamic. The writing isn't enough to fall in love or hate with any of the characters, but the story has enough depth to make it a good read/listen.
Overall pretty good book. I can't rave about it, but it's a good plot, good narration. I could have used a little more grit though. Apparently I liked it enough to put book #2 on my wish list. :)
Seriously? Do I have to say anything about a book in this series? Have you listened to any of them? If so, nuff said! Although the plot and story line are essentially the same for all her books, the details Kresely gives you and each character really and truly have their own personality it doesn't get stale!!! And Petkoff- OMG, how the hell do you keep all the characters and accents straight? Are you as good looking as your voice leads me to believe?
The story was intriguing. It did it's job at keeping you interested. The narrator was good. I don't think it's worth $22.00... if it goes on sale or you have a spare credit use it.
Ok so audible doesn't have this complete series recorded. So, for some reason I listened to shadow's claim then lothaire. But was completely wrong anyway because they're 6 books to read before lothaire (2nd to last in series). OMG!! This is my 2nd fav in this series. A Hunger like no other being #1. Kreseley does a good job where if you happen to read out of order you won't be lost at all, but you just get EVERYthing if you read in order. Stop reading this and go buy the damn audio version. Personal note: ALL books in this series should be narrated by robert petkoff. I'm now reading kiss of a demon king and I miss hearing it read by petkoff. I try to hear him while I read in my head, but it's just no damn good!. Audible! Hurry up and record the rest of the damn series!!!... I feel like samuel l. jackson.
