  • George Carlin Reads to You: An Audio Collection Including Grammy Winners 'Braindroppings' and 'Napalm & Silly Putty'

    • ORIGINAL (7 hrs and 5 mins)
    • By George Carlin
    • Narrated By George Carlin

If one George Carlin audio is funny, then two are funnier and three must be funniest, right? That's our thinking behind this new collection. t's a HighBridge library of laugh-out-loud, award-winning recordings featuring George himself performing many of his best bits.

Rick says: "Like a Cast of Thousands"
"Listen to an old man complain about things."

Having someone complain at you sound like a good way to spend an afternoon? Purchase this!

Unfunny, unwitty, unwanted. I expected much more from the brain behind the "words you cannot say on television" creator, who used to be such a unique voice.

  • The Dragons of Dorcastle: The Pillars of Reality, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By Jack Campbell
    • Narrated By MacLeod Andrews

The Mechanics and the Mages have been bitter rivals, agreeing only on the need to keep the world they rule from changing. But now a Storm approaches, one that could sweep away everything humans have built. Only one person has any chance of uniting enough of Dematr behind her to stop the Storm, but the Great Guilds and many others will stop at nothing to defeat her.

Katie says: "Huh....Well there are dragons. Kinda."
    "Charming romp through new ground!"

This book manages to bring new insight into the well explored areas of high fantasy. Mages, prophecies, young people falling in love and slowly learning to trust. Jack Campbell explores these common themes by adding interesting twists: a industrial mystery, an interesting mythos of enmity between the "Mechanics" and the "Mages".

The reader uses good tones and voices to differentiate between characters but sometimes seems to overemphasise one character's emotions. As a counterpoint to the other, it works, but can be a bit rough.

    Definitely worth it.

  • Renaissance: Assassin's Creed, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 48 mins)
    • By Oliver Bowden
    • Narrated By Gildart Jackson
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Betrayed by the ruling families of Italy, Ezio Auditore embarks upon an epic quest for vengeance. To eradicate corruption and restore his family's honor, he will learn the art of the Assassins. Along the way, Ezio will call upon the wisdom of such great minds as Leonardo da Vinci and Niccolò Machiavelli, knowing that survival is bound to the skills by which he must live.To his allies, he will become a force for change in his fight for freedom and justice.

Jason says: "Great story, Great Narration."
"Better than expected for a licensed novel!"

Working in a licensed universe can be difficult. However, Oliver Bowden has done a good job fleshing out and expanding on licensed characters. If you enjoyed the Assassin's Creed universe, then Bowden's work will make you love it more.
