This is what happened: I met him at the candy store. He turned and smiled at me and I was surprised enough to smile back. This was not a children's candy store, mind you, this was the kind of place you went to buy expensive imported chocolate truffles for your boss' wife because you felt guilty for having sex with him when you were both at a conference in Milwaukee.

It's the stuff dreams are made of. Hollywood discovers a South Carolina orphan, Honey Jane Moon, and makes her a star. She lives a roller-coaster life. Now, though, she's all grown up, a child star no longer, but still dramatic and passionate. Two men, Dash Coogan, a cowboy movie legend, and Eric Dillion, the town's bad boy, know how fiercely she loves and lives. What Honey wants is the family she never had. She'll take the man who latches onto her dreams and who can hang on for the ride!

I love almost everything Susan Elizabeth Phillips writes but I really liked Honey Moon. The characters are so likable and the dialogue is witty. At times, very touching.

Set in the intriguing Scotland of 200 years ago, the third installment in the romantic adventures of Jamie and Claire is as compelling as the first. Now that Claire knows Jamie survived the slaughter at Culloden, she is faced with the most difficult decision of her life. She aches to travel back through time again to find the love of her life, but, in order to do that, she must leave their daughter behind.

    "Good Read"
    Overall

Definitely not as strong as Outlander or Dragonfly in Amber but this story was good. After reading the other books in the series, I feel as if I know the characters and I was eager to listen to the next installment. I was a little disappointed. This book on it's own tended to drag a little in parts.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

    "The best!"
    Overall

I highly recommend this story. I had Outlander on my wishlist for months and never purchased it as the time travel aspect of the book did not appeal to me. When I finally purchased it and began listening, I couldn't stop. The story was riveting and I fell in love with the characters.

New York Times best-selling author Diana Gabaldon enchanted scores of fans with Outlander, her electrifying historical saga set in 18th-century Scotland. Now this sequel sweeps listeners back into the past as Claire relates more of her perilous sojourn there with her Scottish warrior husband, James Fraser. Twenty years after her strange journey back in time, Claire has returned to Scotland with her daughter, determined to share with her the secret she has harbored since her time travel.

Daniel says: "Finally! The unabridged version is here!"
    "Another masterpiece"
    Overall

I loved this book. I thought the story was just about as good as the first story in the series, Outlander. Terrific narration.

In RITA Award-winning author Melody Carlson's light-hearted tale, 30-something Gretchen Hanover learns that renewing a heart takes as much grace as renovating a home. Jilted just before her wedding, she turns to home improvement TV - and ice cream - to soothe her broken heart. And when Gretchen's grand plan to flip a house soon flops, a certain carpenter - at first - only makes matters worse.

Kev Merripen has longed for the beautiful, well-bred Winnifred Hathaway ever since her family rescued him from the brink of death when he was just a boy. But this handsome Gypsy is a man of mysterious origins - and he fears that the darkness of his past could crush delicate, luminous Win. So Kev refuses to submit to temptation...and before long Win is torn from him by a devastating twist of fate.

    Overall

Considering that Lisa Kleypas is one of my favorite authors this one was disappointing to me. I wasn't crazy about the gypsy sub-plot and found the male protaganist to be surly and unattractive. My disappointment in this one will not discourage me from buying other selection by this author.

Shy, studious Irene Stenson and wild, privileged Pamela Webb had been the best of friends for one short high school summer. Their friendship ended the night Pamela dropped Irene off at home - and Irene walked in to discover her parents' bodies on the kitchen floor. It was ruled a murder-suicide, and Irene fled Dunsley, determined to wipe out every memory attached to her northern California hometown. But now she has been summoned back.

    "Good story"
    Overall

I liked the way the way the story unfolded and I really liked that the narration was done by both a male and a female. I didn't find the the main female character to be all that likeable so that's the reason I didn't rate higher.

Ignoring her insistent best friend, some interfering do-gooders, and the ubiquitous dog Fred - not to mention her suddenly raging hormones - 40-year-old Nina thinks anyone but Alex would be a better bet for a relationship. On a rainy Southern night, Jade Sperry endured a young woman's worst nightmare at the hands of three local hell-raisers. Robbed of her youthful ideals and at the center of scandal and tragedy, Jade ran as far and as fast as she could. But she never forgot the sleepy "company town" where every man, woman, and child was dependent on one wealthy family.

Jack Lester has to find a bride...But where can he find the perfect woman? She has to be attractive, kind, a good conversationalist...and most important, she has to accept him as he is: devilishly handsome, charming and, as far as anyone knows, poor as a church mouse! If London society discovers his hidden wealth, he'll never find the right wife.
