This book is about 3 seemingly successful women dealing with big issues in their lives - I really like this type of book. They're dealing with major issues, not just romance, so it's really interesting. My only complaint is the narrator reads too quickly. My current MP3 device doesn't have the function to slow down the speed, but in the past when I have been able to do that, I don't like how it sounds. But, I liked the book well enough to get past the narrator because other than reading fast, she's a good narrator.
This book is very well written & covers such a wide range of family issues. It's about hoarding, about loss, tragedy, and coming of age. It's haunting, poignant, and powerfully written. There's much more to this book than the average "chick lit". I wasn't thrilled with the narrator at first but the more I listened to the story, the more appropriate she became for the story.
I really liked this story & it's written well, but I could only listen to the narrator for short spurts as the 4-year old voice got pretty annoying after a short period of time. I think I might have enjoyed reading this one more than listening. But, if you listen to a sample of the narration & that doesn't bother you, I'd recommend it. The story is very good.
I'm a fan of Lauren Oliver - loved her Delirum series & Before I fall, so I expected to like this one. I wasn't disappointed! How believable? How many things did we do as teenagers that as adults we can't believe we did? Sarah Drew is the perfect narrator for Lauren Oliver's books.
I loved The Good House & this wasn't as good as her previous book, but it was a fairly good story. No one knows what really goes on inside a marriage.
This was such a good book! The narrator was excellent too. Very compelling story.
I was a fan of the early John Grisham books, but they've gradually gotten worse over the years to the point that I had no desire to read any of them the last 5 years. Until this one - it's absolutely his best book in 20 years. I couldn't stop listening, then I listened to the end of the book again because it was such a good ending. I highly recommend this one!
I've had this book for quite a while & started it a few times, but couldn't get interested in the beginning. Once I got past the first couple of chapters, I was hooked. I really like southern literature & the narrator is perfect. It's like having a conversation with a friend - very enjoyable!
Once I started listening, I couldn't stop - totally pulled me into the story. I can see this book being made into a movie! The narrator spoke a little too fast at times, but otherwise was fine. Totally enjoyed listening to this one!
I'm a long-time Dean Koontz fan, but this book wasn't in my top 10, not even in my top 25. It was just OK. I didn't like the ending at all.
This is an enchanting & thoughtful book. The narrator is absolutely perfect for Melody & that makes the story even better. It makes you think about how you live your life, what you can do & how you do it. A must listen!
