I also have the hardcover version of this book. Sometimes I'd read. Sometimes I'd listen. Sometimes I'd do both. It was a good book to relax with on the deck. Truthfully, I found it the climax a little predictable, however the ride there was anything but. A good story and a terrific debut novel for John. I've suggested the book to others.
While perhaps not quite as exciting as The Lion's Game, I still found the story engaging and enjoyable. I'd easily recommend it.
As usual, the first-class narration of Scott Brick really brings the story to life. I cannot imagine another narrator doing John Corey.
Like some others, I found the ending rather disappointing. I was prepared for a showdown meeting that never materialized. The suspense kept building and building, then the rug was pulled out from under me.
Apart from that, it was very enjoyable indeed.
As usual, Scott Brick's narration is first rate.
