Yes, this was a fantastic story. Great action and character interaction. It even made me laugh outloud a few times. It was a real pleasure.
Plot & execution
The narrator is terribly slow. I actually listened to both books on 2x speed. He was quite enjoyable then. I don't think I could have listened to the books on 1x speed. That would have been a shame. I recommend these books to anyone who has the ability to speed up their player.
I can't give a high enough recommendation for The Dresden Files series. They are among my top 3 of all time. If you haven't read them all, I would recommend starting at the beginning, just because each story builds on what came before. They are each enjoyable on their own, however. Jim Butcher is a master storyteller who has created characters that the reader cares about. The stories are complex and fascinating and include almost nonstop action. Small Favor is no exception. The separate storylines come together cleverly and there is no shortage of new villains/antagonists along with some old ones. Everyone I have recommended this series to has absolutely loved it.
Yes. This story began the continuing storyline after Return of the Jedi, and did it very well. Mr. Zahn was able to seamlessly pick up after the movies and continue an interesting and exciting storyline with characters I already loved.
Marc Thompson's narration is brilliant! He is able to capture all the characters individually in a way few narrators are able. He is a step above many that I respect and love to listen to. He's just that good.
This book was already in audio format before the 20th Anniversary Edition and was read by an excellent narrator. This revamp, however, is miles above anything that came before.
