What does Roy Dotrice bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

An amazing actor, but it was not until I got to the 4th book that I had a different reader that I truly appreciated his talent.

Dubbed the American Tolkien by Time magazine, George R. R. Martin has earned international acclaim for his monumental cycle of epic fantasy. Now the number-one New York Times best-selling author delivers the fifth book in his spellbinding landmark series - as both familiar faces and surprising new forces vie for a foothold in a fragmented empire.

Ryan says: "Enjoyable, but a lot of setup"
"Not a fan of Roy Dotrice's narrating style"

Would you try another book from George R. R. Martin and/or Roy Dotrice?

No, i like the series of books but Roy Dotrice's reading ruined it for me. He reads Danyerses voice exactly like Tyrion. He cannot at all do a good range of voices. Lots of other narrators do a wonderful range of voices, but not Dotrice

Born mute, speaking only in sign, Edgar Sawtelle leads an idyllic life with his parents and an unusual breed of dogs on their farm in remote northern Wisconsin. But when tragedy strikes the Sawtelle family, Edgar flees to the surrounding wilderness. He comes of age in the wild, fighting for his survival and that of the three yearling dogs who follow him.

What a wonderful book...right up until the last 20 minutes. Perhaps the most disappointing ending to a book that I have ever read. It was a huge betrayal that I took personally after becoming so involved with the characters and story.
