These words, spoken to Brian Robeson, will change his life. Two years earlier, Brian was stranded alone in the wilderness for 54 days with nothing but a small hatchet. Yet he survived. Now the government wants him to go back into the wilderness so that astronauts and the military can learn the survival techniques that kept Brian alive. Soon the project backfires, though, leaving Brian with a wounded partner and a long river to navigate. His only hope is to build a raft and try to transport the injured man a hundred miles downstream to a trading post - if the map he has is accurate.

Would you consider the audio edition of The River to be better than the print version?

Yes for a reader who has a hard time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Obviously Brian because although this book had a second character he was the hero.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The storm and the lightening strike.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Brian's dogged determination to push himself beyond his physical capabilities to get the raft down the river and his absolute exhaustion upon finally landing at the Trading Post.

    Any additional comments?

Brian's Winter is still the very best in this series but I did enjoy The River. The suspence of if the river would actually end up at the Trading Post and weather they would make it held your attention.

Where does Touching Spirit Bear rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Would give this book a 4 star rating.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Thought the narrator read way to fast and there was very little difference in his voice as it changed from character to character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Loved the ending, it left you pleased but also left the door open for a future book.

    Any additional comments?

I read the actual book as well as listened to the audio version so I knew the story line well.
Would have enjoyed the audio better had the narrator done a better job.
