Pollyanna, an expert at her favorite "Glad Game" of always looking at the bright side in her numerous trials, is one of the most popular and enduring characters in all of children's literature. As Pollyanna arrives in Beldingsville to live with her strict and dutiful maiden aunt, she exclaims, "Oh, Aunt Polly, I don't know how to be glad enough that you let me come to live with you!"

Pollyanna's so kind and positive; she inspires me to play the glad game!

I love this story! I love that everyone who meets Pollyanna is changed for the better.

Which character – as performed by S. Patricia Bailey – was your favorite?

Pollyanna- a sweet child's voice without being overdone.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes- when Aunt Polly is changed for the better, and opens herself to love. And when Pollyanna is able to walk again!

One of Jane Austen's most popular novels. Arrogant, self-willed, and egotistical, Emma is her most unusual heroine.

What made the experience of listening to Emma the most enjoyable?

The narrator was fantastic! She really made the story come to life - you felt as though the characters were real people, really there with you. The story was also wonderful - I found it easier to understand and follow than some of Jane Austen's other works.

What other book might you compare Emma to and why?

Any other of Jane Austen's books - obviously, because they're written by the same author and of the same era.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Spoiler alert! When Emma and Mr. Knightly express their true feelings for one another, and the scene's following. From there onward, they show such sweet, humerous, and companionable fondness for each other. You can see that they are indeed dear friends who happened to fall in love.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't have an extreme reaction to this book; though, I still found it very witty and a compelling listen.

    Any additional comments?

Great listen for Jane Austen fans!

After a political scandal, fledgling lobbyist Dempsey Jo Killebrew is left almost broke, unemployed, and homeless. She reluctantly accepts to refurbish Birdsong, the old family place in Guthrie, Georgia. But, oh, is Dempsey in for a surprise. "Bird Droppings" would more aptly describe the moldering Pepto Bismol - pink dump. There's also a murderously grumpy old lady who has claimed squatter's rights and isn't moving out. Ever.

Karen M. McGrady says: "Enjoyable Listening"

What did you love best about The Fixer Upper?

The small-town feeling of it! I grew up in a small town in Arkansas, though no longer live there. I enjoy listening to a story with sweet yet spunky southern characters; just one of the reasons I love Mary Kay Andrew's books. Makes me think of home!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Oddly, Carter Berryhill. He's such a kind, considerate man. Always the gentleman, and willing to help any way he can.

Have you listened to any of Isabel Keating’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not. But I thought she did a great job in this one!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I was eager to learn how Dempsey's work trouble would resolve, in addition to her renovations on the house, dealings with Ella Kate, and her budding life in Guthrie.

    Any additional comments?

    Wonderful, easy listen!

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

Would you listen to The Night Circus again? Why?

YES! I already have several times! I love this story- it's a fantastic tale of magic for adults! The descriptions of the Circus, the characters, etc. are amazing- they paint such a magnificent picture for you while still leaving room for your imagination to soar! And Jim Dale is an amazing narrator- he really keeps you engaged in the story. Amazing story + amazing narrator = incredible!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tough question, because they were all so different and interesting in their own ways! Right now, I'd narrow it down to Bailey. He's an ordinary boy who can believe the extraordinary. He's so genuine- he really exemplifies the pure mind of a child- open to an infinite amount of possibilities and wonders.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Again- really tough question, because there are so many incredible scenes! The character's auditions, various exhibitions of talents, the personal relationships or interactions between various characters...The best I can narrow it down to is this: any scene describing the Circus. It really is magical!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! Normally I listen to audio books while getting ready for the day, or doing menial tasks. With this book, I'd catch myself just sitting, listening, waiting to hear what's next- unable to focus on anything but the story, even while carrying out the simplest of tasks!

    Any additional comments?

LOVE this book!! I highly recommend it!!
