Yes, good to listen while working etc.
The end was predictable. The journey was worth it though.
He is one of the best, that is why I bought the book.
Not that I can think of.
I liked the pace, funny antics and crazy bad luck. i like how she pretty much takes most things without panic.
When she tells her husband about the car, the kid and the transvestite.
I could see either, it is just a fun diversion.
Not really, it was pretty much more of the same. It was frustrating in several ways. One of the main characters through the book was a man named Shadow Love, the name ruined the flow for me. I know Indian names and anything else would have been better, it distracted me every time Lucas used it and in one chapter he must have said it thirty times.
Possibly, the subject or premise would have to be enticing.
He is perfect for the character Lucas. I would seek him out.
His love affairs were irritating too. I am sure the scenarios happen everyday but...............
Yes, I would check them both out.
This is my first of his books.
Yes, he was perfect for it.
Possibly, depending on actors.
The sarcasm and witty dialogue was essential to holding on to my attention. It took me a couple tries to stick with it but, sometimes your in the mood for one type of book and sometimes not.
Going in I knew there were limited outcomes possible. The characters were interesting and the story moved along. When going from past to present it was hard to follow which girl was talking, repeating their old name with the new would have been helpful. The narrator really did not work for me.
After a few chapters I thought I knew what the ending would be, I was right.
I am not sure. She does many characters but it was hard to differentiate the two main characters, that greatly impaired the story for me. When she is the narrator of the story she is monotone, it really deters from the story.
I wouldn't recommend it. It took a couple of tries but I finished it. The story and characters were sympathetic.
I tried to listen to it two or three times. It might have gotten better but, I couldn't keep my mind on it. The narration was not very good. Sometimes he spoke to fast and most of his voices sounded the same.
No, it is really hit and miss in this genre.
It really could not hold my attention. I think narration might have been the problem.
Yes, she has a variety of types of books. This one was very light, I prefer more meat to a book. If you want pure romance and not much else to a story this book is for you. The characters were likable. The romance was far fetched but, cute.
"It is what it is". People seeking romance with a little story will like this. It was enjoyable. I prefer plot, mystery, action, romance and in depth characters that you can get vested in.
She did a good job with this story.
Maybe a life time movie.
There are many more books that would be a better selection for a movie, Dianne Duvall's and Jeanine Frost.
This book was a pleasant diversion.
I am not sure. It was easy to listen to. The plot is light, not complex. It does seem like a format.
Narration was good.
I elaborate on book reviews if I love or hate the book. The last three books I have finished were not memorable or didn't create any feelings. The books past the time.
I bought two on sale. I will listen to the other. I had no problem getting through it. The characters were likable. It isn't a book I will listen to more than once. The journey was more interesting than the some of the book.
The characters were good, but not developed enough. Their lightly dusted over.
He has a nice voice, deep and raspy. His voice has an ironic nature. He didn't do women very well.
I wouldn't seek it out. Jeanine Frost, Dianne Duvall, Deborah Harkness are authors book's I would go to see if there were a movie.
I think many mystery lovers will like this book. I like more action, banter, romance, complex characters and a supernatural element would be a bonus.
I think there are many people that might like this book. For me it was like a B movie. The dialogue seemed forced for lack of a better term.
No. I seldom recommend books that are less than a 4 or 4 1/2 and or I have listened to multiple times.
He was fine with the male voices but not the female voices. He seemed very robotic too. I am not sure for a narrator.
I did finish it and the ending was happy so, there is that.....
I gave the story 3 even though it was not near as good as other 3s because I finished it, so I didn't want to give it 2s across.
The narrator wasn't bad but, she made following some of the story difficult.
I bought two at a sale. I won't listen to the other right away.
Gilbert, Kirsten Potter, Jennifer Ikeda
There were a couple of annoying characters voice etc. but I guess they were necessary.
I skipped parts of this book. I may try it again another time.
