Yes, good to listen while working etc.
The end was predictable. The journey was worth it though.
He is one of the best, that is why I bought the book.
The story seemed interesting, the way the story is told. However, the narrator's voice was like fingernails on a chalkboard. I didn't get past two chapters.
Not the genre.
NO. The young girl's voice sounded like a thirty year old. It wasn't the character's sophistication, it was the voice. I am curious to whom this book is suppose to appeal? I hate to be negative but I think this book would be a good listen with different narrators.
I am disappointed I spent a credit!!!
Yes, I would listen to the sample first.
It doesn't matter how good the story is if you can not set through the narrator.......
I couldn't listen, sorry.
Didn't get far enough.
Listen to samples it will save you money!!
Got a different narrator, Tavia Gilbert, Jennifer Ikeda, Poter......
The narrator is why I couldn't finish, sorry. Maybe it is for preteens.
Hard to tell it was the narrator that made me give up.
I will from now on listen to the sample before buying a book. No matter how well it is written if the performance is bad.......
Yes, probably, maybe. I love the characters in all the previous books. The characters in this book were good.
As in all her books the too long raunchy sex scenes take away from the book. Dianne Duvall and Jeaniene Frost know how to convey erotic love making without the C word and the also crude P word. The sex scenes are too long. I would have fast forwarded but then you miss dialogue.
I like in the other books of the series all the brothers were throughout the story and more supporting characters.
When they are in the underworld hunting rogue demons.
It was all about sex and they didn't talk or get to know each other aside from that. I am listening to Dianne Duvall right now and she lets the relationships evolve. The find out more and more about each other and like it.
This was my least favorite of her books. I still can't wait for the next one to be out.
The character interaction is humorous and compelling.
There were so many. The growth of characters through the series makes you want to know them, everything about their past and all their thoughts.
I actually started this series because I was looking for books she narrated. She is one of my top three favorites out of hundreds. She does men and accents amazingly!!!
Yes, and I did. I am going to wait a couple days and listen again. My garden and house have never been so maintained.
I literally can not wait for the next book. There is only one other author I feel desperate for their next book.
I love Joe Ledger, his sardonic nature and all the rest. When I can't find another good book or one I bought was not very good, I listen to patient zero. This filled in blanks left from that book.
When he puts the gun to his nemisis.
Would be a scene spoiler.
I am going to listen again because I was confused why part of his team with a vast amount of weapons couldn't take out the few walkers they encountered. It was dark and the team knew they were hostiles and didn't just take them out. Unless they were eating people, how would they know they were different and be freaked?
Yes, I have bought several of her books and like most of them. Her books are all different.
Very well done.
Her narration was well done.
Maybe. The dialogue between the two main characters was funny and interesting.
Abigail's intelligent knack for analytical detail was essential.
I didn't feel involved or connected to the characters. Each of the characters could have been developed more and more history, that makes you vested in them. All the questions in the review go back to developing the characters so that you care about the choices and what happens to them instead of just hanging in there to see who did it. Not being able to figure out who did it is big but sticking with a story just to find out.......
The ending was the most redeeming event. You will never suspect the villin.
She wasn't bad.
I don't know about cutting. What is the background of Spencer, Stacey, Jan, Patty and subordinate characters?
There are books with weak, complex or long plots but what makes you hang in there is if you feel connected to the characters. The plot was good.
This is a very complicated review. The start was grueling. The story picked up. the characters were good. The good and interesting characters should have been developed more. There were some great characters to develop. The summation was so quick and unsatisfying. There was so much potential!!!! I love period pieces! could have been phenomenal with some input from a third party or fourth, editor! A non infested person.
He was good, not as good as others, but his performance did not deter.
Yes and no. I finished it but there were times I just did not want to finish it. The summation should have been a surprise but strings should have eluded. I felt like the whole motive was to guide you to the next book.
I have never had such mixed feelings.
Yes, buy it. It is very predictable which would usually be a deal breaker. However the journey is well worth it. The characters are interesting. Who doesn't love ghosts. Declan really made the story. His character was like no other men in stories. Interesting. The humor was essential. The end is predictable and corny but, oh well.
Every time the ghosts are slamming doors or clocks are chiming Declan just takes it in stride and will not give up, get discouraged or get scared. He just keeps on working.
James Daniels was excellent. He is right up there with Scott Brick. He brought humor without blatant dialog. It was the right pauses etc. I will look for books he is the narrator. Sandra was fine.
The relationship between the grandma and Declan.
