The spinning of the yarn. Hearing about his relationship with Diogenese as a children.
The uncle was the hero, he did whatever needed to be done at all cost.
No one else could bring the characters to life in a manner that lets you crawl into their heads.
No. I did get through it but it wasn't easy. The narrator ruined it. It sounded like a Saturday cartoon. He didn't differentiate voices very well and did not do women well. I was hoping for a Dresden type book.
I am thinking of steering away from paranormal towards basic mystery.
He just was not suited for the story.
Honestly there might have been potential in the story, it couldn't hold my attention so I don't know.
I am really mixed. The main two characters are very likable. It could have been great if while solving "his murder" there were a couple other mysteries going on at the same time. The more interaction between the two main characters could have had some great sardonic humor. Throw in the girl interest, she could have added some dark humor also. It is like a film noir but...... It is not too hard to get through but at the end..... There were only a few events that carry the whole story. It was along long story to solve one mystery. My least easy critic.
I might. His characters were great. He needed more story.
The narrator was very good. I don't think someone else would do better.
It is sex masquerading as a story.
The characters and scenes had potential. Some were funny. If you fast forwarded through the sex scenes there would probably be a chapter maybe more. In addition to cutting the sex scenes by less than half, getting rid of the raunchy language would make the scenes better. Jeaniene Frost's sex scenes are erotic but not raunchy she should use them as an example.
The narrator was good but, I couldn't tell the girls apart. That made the story very confusing. She really needed to differentiate voices of characters especially the southern ones. I think she will improve. I would try her again. There were three main couples and it was hard to tell the voices apart.
After a short while I had to fast forward through the long tedious sex scenes. You miss part of the story before and after. So the reaction is frustration. I finally gave up.
People that are looking for just porn not much story. There were some good characters and some development of them. The banter was the best part. However the whole thing is overshadowed by repeated rape and the girl grows to love the guy after. How else do you describe a girl repeatedly saying no, no, no, screaming cursing trying to get away and the guy doesn't stop?
The banter was funny, my favorite part. There were enough characters and you like and hate some. The storyline was very weak. It was mostly an excuse for porn.
I wouldn't use a credit.
It was a mystery but it couldn't keep my attention at all. Also, it came down to child abuse in the end, I don't like to read about. The plot was detailed enough and had twists.
Perhaps but I won't seek him out.
Perhaps but I won't seek him out. I like his voice but differentiating between characters is not up to par.
Characters are detailed, plot had good potential.
Yes, I would. I found that the second listen was actually better than the first.
It was different, I enjoyed the building side and ghosts.
At first I thought her words were non distinct. Shortly after I appreciated her manor and she created since of humor.
The characters are so well developed. It wouldn't matter the story at this point, the interaction between characters is the attraction. This is not my favorite of her books but it is well worth the listen. The evolution makes since.
It is hard to say, it is a compilation of fascinating individuals with unique personalities. I guess my favorites are Bones, Vlad, and Cat.
Not sure, probably the end.
Can not wait for the next book!
Start from the beginning there are some don't miss books. The first three are my favorite then Once Burned and Twice Tempted.
Yes. The last few books I bought I could barely finish. This one had a light content. It was enjoyable with humor and interesting characters. The book flowed. It was not frustrating like my last two or three. I laughed and smiled often.
It was very good for a light read. I will check out more of her books. It was a great diversion.
For a 4 or 5 star I would save that for a Jeanine Frost book with in depth characters, plot and constant humor and banter. Jeanine's romance and sex scenes were done in perfect amounts, tied with the plot.
Yes, the narrator was very good I would look for other books done by her. She made the different voices distinct. Her inflection was very good. I enjoyed her immensely.
Most the books I listen to I would not reccomend for a movie or TV series. This one would make a series.
I will try another of her books.
Too much religion and not used right. The Christian falsely accuses a man and ruins his life, takes away the woman he loves, his job and freedom. The police spend the whole book focused on one man with a rush to judgement. The main character thinks sorry makes it okay.
Listen to editors and critics advise.
Yes, she was good but I wouldn't seek her out.
I would say a little of each anger over lack of justice for the accused, sadness for a life devastated by rush to judgment, and disappointment of how many people went along with it. In the end to top it off a man on the edge because of everyone believing a woman claiming his guilt by a vision given from God cracks, he ends up in jail for a few years. He should have got probation.
I barely got through it. There were a couple of good characters. There were more developed characters needed. The banter between the two main characters was great, but the lust aspect needed to be 90% less. The plot was cookbook with an out of the air twist at the end. It was cat and mouse, kind of like a car chase movie.
I would try one. The narrator did a good job.
If there was more story and developed characters. The banter was the best part but the lust was 90% of the book. Of course the book is not meant to be realistic however, no woman would forgive and forget the cruel, crude public humiliation that the love interest repeatedly does.
There was potential but the execution was lacking.
