Although Rhennthyl is the son of a leading wool merchant in L'Excelsis, the capital of Solidar, the most powerful nation on Terahnar, he has spent years becoming a journeyman artist and is skilled and diligent enough to be considered for the status of master artisan - in another two years. Then, in a single moment, his entire life is transformed when his master patron is killed in a flash fire and Rhenn discovers he is an imager.

Timorell says: "I didn't love it"
    "Great fantasy from Modesit"

This is a book that I really enjoyed. The characters come to life as the book progresses and the plot(s) develope. I have also read and enjoyed the "Recluse" series in print. Please Audible, get the "Recluse" series.

In that first volume, we were introduced to the remarkable world of Roshar, a world both alien and magical, where gigantic hurricane-like storms scour the surface every few days and life has adapted accordingly. Roshar is shared by humans and the enigmatic, humanoid Parshendi, with whom they are at war.

D says: "Book !!; no let down- "Words of Radieance" shines"
    "Excellent story, wonderful narration."

Would you consider the audio edition of Words of Radiance to be better than the print version?

I have a 90 minute commute each way every day so the audio version is the only way I can "read" a book of this length.

What other book might you compare Words of Radiance to and why?

Wheel of Time, Lord of the Rings. All three books have a depth to them, there are things older or in some distant land that make the story richer and more colorful, even if they are not a main focus of the plot.

Which character – as performed by Michael Kramer and Kate Reading – was your favorite?

Kaladin - surprisingly when voiced by either narrator.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Kaladin when he landed on the plateau after saving Dalenar.

    Any additional comments?

Can't wait for the sequel(s). Please. Hope there is not as long before the next one.
