Ryon Hunter sees dead people - spirits that beg him for help in ways he can't understand. He'd do anything to end the torment, until a beautiful spirit appears to him with a plea he can't ignore: Help me . . . I'm alive. The woman is wildlife biologist Daria Bradford, mortally wounded after encountering a white wolf, calling to Ryon through a rare Psy gift. When Ryon locates Daria in the Shoshone National Park, it is almost too late, but nursing her back to health at the Alpha Pack compound brings a new complication...

I enjoyed the entire book as it was full of romance, plots that included saving humanity, some sci-fi, and humor.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, it is not as intense as it would need to be to merit that kind of dedication

A rumor has persisted in the vampire world of a dark slayer - a woman - who travels with a wolf pack and who destroys any vampire who crosses her path. Mysterious, elusive and seemingly impossible to kill, she is the one hunter who strikes terror into the hearts of the undead. She is Ivory Malinov. Her only brethren, the wolves. Long ago betrayed by her people, abandoned by her family, and cast out by everyone she held dear, Ivory has lived centuries without companionship or love.

Would you consider the audio edition of Dark Slayer to be better than the print version?

I found this book on a clearance rack in hardback and decided to try it as I do often with new authors. Great story line and characters which was enjoyable and fascinating. I fell in love with the Carpathian story and have almost all of her books now in my library having listened to all of them.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ivory was fantastic. Strong, Interesting, & Strong as a character.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Where her wolves become part of her and the story behind her pack.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she shared how her wolves came to be part of her family and life

    Any additional comments?

Great book, I suggest you start from the beginning with book one in this series and then buy this one as it falls. However, you can really start with any of the books in this series. You simply learn about the older key players first and it builds easier in your heart and mind if you do so. You will love the book if you like sci-fi / fantasy and strong characters who are dynamic.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Story Line - WOW. Character depth, Amazing. This is a huge book so it was a commitment to consider it as the size can be intimidating for someone not familiar with the author. I bought it on one of my trips to Barnes & Noble in hard-back from the clearance aisle one day when I was looking for new authors as I liked the setting. Fantastic Book. I have read it twice then when I found it here on Audible, I purchased it and listened to it. I have since listened to it again and it is one of my go-to pieces on my library that is downloaded for an immediate read.

This started my entire history of buying Sherrilyn Kenyon books and now I either have them in hard-back or on Audible.com or both. She is an amazing creator and I have read her other books from outside the Dark Series as well. Can't encourage you with enough confidence and passion to buy this book and read it. You will love it.

What other book might you compare Acheron to and why?

Game of Thrones has the depth and character build-out that this one has. If she had built it in a set of novels and ran the characters in concurrent fashion as a full thread vs. individual books it would have seriously given it a run for its money. I'm serious

    Which scene was your favorite?

The very first chapter where his mother is running to save him and vows to end the world sending him to earth and from there it just keeps getting better. You feel for Acheron and grow with him throughout the book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Leave it as Acheron This would be a FANTASTIC movie in all ways.

    Any additional comments?

Thank you Sherrilyn Kenyon for growing my library with such amazing books. I very much look forward to your next one. Styxx was amazing as well. Holter Graham, great job as well.

On December 7, 1941, the Japanese launched an attack against U.S. naval forces stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. But what if the Japanese followed up their air assault with an invasion and occupation of Hawaii? This is the question explored by Harry Turtledove in Days of Infamy, with frightening implications.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Tried to read this and finish it as the story line was not bad, but after getting almost halfway through it, I just couldn't spend anymore of my quality time on it. There are so many great books out there waiting to be read and this simply could not gain any momentum.

What could Harry Turtledove have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

He needed to create a story line and deliver earlier - much earlier on in the novel. This could have cut this novel in half easily.

What didn’t you like about John Allen Nelson’s performance?

    The performance was fine

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

When 15-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing, not even a smear of blood, to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

New narrator. I always read the unabridged story via Audible as I enjoy having the entire story and I first read the book and knew the movie was coming out so I got it on Audible.com and was very disappointed.

What was one of the most memorable moments of City of Bones?

There are great scenes throughout if you read it, but without a new narrator I can not suggest this book. Sorry Ari Graynor.

Would you be willing to try another one of Ari Graynor’s performances?

No. As I love the story and book, I feel the burden is on her shoulders for not liking the book on Audible to the point I could not hear more than a third of it. I really tried, but it was too dry and ponderous. A book should be an adventure and this was not.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from City of Bones?

None, liked the book immensely as well as the movie itself. Actually wished the movie had more of the book's scenes in it.

    Any additional comments?

Please consider re-working this novel and the others with a new narrator. In doing so remember that when we love a story line and look forward to the next book in the series it is always best to continue our love of the story with the same narrator. They helped build the story for us on Audible versions and are as much a part of it as the written words with their interpretations.

The anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts one of the most dramatic stories in American history—how one gunshot changed the country forever. In the spring of 1865, the bloody saga of America's Civil War finally comes to an end after a series of increasingly harrowing battles. President Abraham Lincoln's generous terms for Robert E. Lee's surrender are devised to fulfill Lincoln's dream of healing a divided nation. But one man and his band of murderous accomplices are not appeased....

What would have made Killing Lincoln better?

I love historical books and this one is not good at all. I truly expected it to be great with the author but the sentence structure is slow and ponderous and the story line is not good either. Bill O'Reilly is fantastic on his show, but that is him talking on point. Building a story with his voice is NOT his strength so he should never read his novels. It may take it up a notch but I just could not finish it.

Has Killing Lincoln turned you off from other books in this genre?

Just off buying Bill O'Reilly's books.

Would you be willing to try another one of Bill O'Reilly’s performances?

NO He truly does not need to perform a narrative

    Any additional comments?

Do not suggest this book if you enjoy historical books of any kind. I did not have a problem with him creating a story line that was not historical fact. I generally don't expect it from any historical novel, rather I want a story based on times of old. This did not do it in any way, shape, or format. Sorry

Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) rocks this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Go the F**k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.

What would have made Go the F--k to Sleep better?

This book offends me on so many levels and I do not ever recall having ANY book that I have looked at or bought that I truly hate to see in my library. Please remove it. Please

What was most disappointing about Adam Mansbach and Ricardo Cortes (cover illustration) ’s story?

Narration and content. The book seems to be a childrens story in the cover illustration then shocks you from sentence one with 4 letter words. I really should have known when I saw who was narrating it.

What didn’t you like about Samuel L. Jackson’s performance?

Nasty tone and he seems to enjoy creating chaos with the content of this book. Hated it

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Go the F--k to Sleep?

Every single thing. This should never had been published. At the very least take the illustration down so that you don't give even the illusion of children book

    Any additional comments?

Hate it, Really Hate it, Did I say how much I Hate it. Please remove this from my library.

Where does Twist of Fate rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Jane Ann Krentz novels have a twist and that brings them to an interesting level in novels as a whole giving you the additional depth. Overall it ranks somewhere in the middle for me.

What other book might you compare Twist of Fate to and why?

    ..

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

She did a good job, not sure she had as much to work with in this novel as she could have had with a richer story line.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Not film quality.

LOVE...LOVE...LOVE J.D. Robb's in Death series and feel like Eve is part of the family which is what a novel is supposed to do. Normally after a time and especially after 37 of them it tends to get old BUT NOT these. Each one is an exciting and wonderful look into the world of Eve. This one is fantastic with Mavis

What other book might you compare Born in Death to and why?

    Love them all

Yes, I have tried other authors for the exact reason that I love her narrative skills.

When Mavis is pregnant and has her melt down.

YES. I have all of the books and this one of 5 series that I would read again.
Others are: Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Series * / Geroge RR Martin Game of Thrones / All JD Robb In Death Series / Christine Feehan Ghostwalkers (also like her Carapthian Series) / JRR Tolkien the Hobbit-Lord of the Rings Big commitments but worth the time and money to purchase and listen to them as well as purchase in print form. *I have both for many of my books.

What did you like best about this story?

    Everything

Have you listened to any of Khristine Hvam’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She did an amazing job on this and on all other projects. My hope is that in making these reviews, it encourages the authors to use the talent that we feel is best as well as encourage those narrators with negative comments to work on their approach to reading the book. It is also my hope that the books we like very well will encourage the authors to write more of them knowing they have people who dearly love their work.

What made the experience of listening to Cast in Shadow the most enjoyable?

I read this because I like the narrator as I had never heard of Michelle Sagara before. I was enchanted and engaged with the novel immediately. It creates a whole new community with rich details. Read them all, Read them in order, and I hope Michelle Sagara writes more of them. I just downloaded and read the latest book.

What other book might you compare Cast in Shadow to and why?

Sherrilyn Kenyons Dark Series as it creates an entire community and is very much a neck and neck run on which one was best. Although Acheron which is book one for the Dark Series does slant things completely for a win. Either way you can not lose reading these books. You will like them.

What does Khristine Hvam bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voices and characters. I have read for many years and love it easily making the book real in my mind when I do read one but she has a real talent.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Leave the book title alone, it rocks as do the graphics on the cover of each of her books. Please do make a film.
