Sherlock Holmes is the greatest detective in literary history. For the first time since the death of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a new Holmes story has been sanctioned by his estate, whetting the appetites of fans everywhere. Information about the book will be revealed as deliberately as Holmes himself would unravel a knotty case, but bestselling novelist and Holmes expert Anthony Horowitz is sure to bring a compelling, atmospheric story to life.

I was awfully entertained by this story, but the narrator made it all the more enjoyable.

By edict of the king, the mighty Scottish laird Alec Kincaid must take an English bride. His choice was Jamie the feisty youngest daughter of Baron Jamison. Alec ached to touch her, to tame her, to possess her forever. But Jamie vowed never to surrender to this highland barbarian. Though his kisses fired her blood, shadowed secrets from Alec's past threatened Jamie's happiness. She brazenly resisted him - until one rapturous moment quelled their clash of wills.

    Story

Well, by all means, download this book if you are into stories about a 12th century version of an insecure teenager. About the time I rolled my eyes for the 15th time, I decided I couldn't take it anymore and deleted. With anger! Now, normally I would ignore a review by someone who hasn't at least listened to the whole book, but I found myself compelled to save someone the trouble and write a review despite breaking my own rule. Maybe it got better, but I literally couldn't stick around to find out. The main character of the book is in the runnning to become the most annoying female character of all time. It's as if the author couldn't abide writing a character that reflected the time the story was set in and tried to put modern female traits and opinions into Jamie,...the dumb overwraught teenager and lead female character. I can pretty much read or listen to anything, but I guess I have my limits. Like this author.
