Victor Frankenstein learns the secret of producing life, and so, by putting together parts of various corpses, he creates the Frankenstein monster. The monster is huge and disformed, but he means no harm to anyone--until constant ill treatment drives him to murder and revenge. This easy-to-read version of Mary Shelley's long-standing masterpiece easily captures the sadness and horror of the original.

Would you consider the audio edition of Frankenstein to be better than the print version?

    Better than print version

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Beast. His values were simple and virtuous until he found that not a soul would care for him..to include his maker.

What does Jim Weiss bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This book is written with detail after detail. If Jim Weiss did not take great effort in sharing those, the book would have been different and I may not have finished it. The book version is hard to stick with. Jim took you through each chararcter's view point.

    Any additional comments?

Hard to believe this was written by a nineteen year old.

The Poisonwood Bible is a story told by the wife and four daughters of Nathan Price, a fierce evangelical Baptist who takes his family and mission to the Belgian Congo in 1959. They carry with them all they believe they will need from home, but soon find that all of it - from garden seeds to Scripture - is calamitously transformed on African soil.
