In the latest from best selling author James Patterson, all signs are pointing toward something awful. Worldwide epidemics, droughts, famines, floods, and stranger still, two immaculate conceptions, have the world wondering, are these random acts of nature, or is this prophecy? Gayle says: "what a bizarre story"
    "Not your typical Patterson"
    Overall

I loved this work, like others, I went with the "oooh Patterson", love his stuff, and didn't read the book description. Not as bizarre as the Lake House but definately different. I stayed up way to late and in my car far too long with this one.

This is a darkly hilarious coming-of-age novel and a richly plotted suspense tale told through the distinctive voice of its heroine, Blue van Meer. After a childhood spent moving from one academic outpost to another with her father, Blue is clever and possessed of a vast lexicon of knowledge. But when a drowning and the shocking death of a teacher lead to a confluence of mysteries, Blue is left to make sense of it all with only her gimlet-eyed instincts and cultural references to guide - or misguide - her.

Nice story, good ride, ending what a let down!
It was a cheap easy rabbitt out of a hat that just made me feel like the entire book was a wasted trip. It's like driving to Disney from MA and finding its closed. You can think of it as a nice scenic trip, maybe you had some good times, but was it worth it in the end? no.

At the close of the last millennium, Helen Fielding debuted the irrepressible (and blockbuster-bestselling) Bridget Jones. Now, Fielding gives us a sensational new heroine for a new era. Move over 007, a stunning, sexy, and decidedly female, new player has entered the world of international espionage. Her name is Olivia Joules and she's ready to take America by storm with charm, style, and her infamous Overactive Imagination.

Jody R. Nathan says: "Great Romp; wonderfully performed"
    "Gaaakc!!1The Perils of Pauline....."
    Overall

Horrible horrible!!! Waited patiently for the fun of Bridget Jones, never came. Received instead one ridiculus twist and "miraculous" save after another. Just horrid!

Heather says: "What a Funny Lady"
    "Yawn....reformed? I think not"
    Overall

This is not a book about self acceptance it is not the wacky adventures of a person on a journey of anything. It is a humdrum diary about a woman losing weight. We hear everything she eats, everything she craves, and I am sorry but the fact that she falls down drunk and breaks her leg is just down right sad. Come on. She has got the stereotypical excuses as to why she was fat...I was molested therefore I am fat. How about I eat too much therefore I am fat? Not everyone who is plus size has a deep dark secret!! Unless you count 4 a.m. ho-hos or twinkies..had high hopes but I wasted not only a book credit but far too long listening!

The Colour of Magic, the first novel in Terry Pratchett's wildly imaginative Discworld series, takes the listener on a remarkable journey. The magical planet of Discworld is supported by four massive elephants who stand on the back of the Great A'Tuin, a giant turtle swimming slowly through the mysterious interstellar gulf. An eccentric expedition sets out to explore the planet, encountering dragons who only exist if you believe in them, and of course "The Edge" of the planet.

Joel says: "Start in any of seven Disworld books"
    "What a riot!!"
    Overall

Ok, I am new to this genre and am having such a great time!! I'm not sure Prachetts writing would be as entertaining without Nigels voice. Just loving this trip

Sarah Strohmeyer has captured the hearts and funnybones of millions of fans with her spunky Bubbles Yablonsky mysteries. A curvaceous hairdresser with an outrageous wardrobe, Bubbles also freelances as a journalist. But when she links a murder to a wealthy socialite, she becomes the target of powerful people who will do anything to cover up the crime.

    Victoria says: "A Surprise"

She is fun!! When you need a break from hard boiled detectives, grim coroners and overly cozy, cozies...Bubbles is your gal. The hairdresser with attitude and 3 inch spikes is a fun ride and makes the work commute a breeze, unfortunately...I keep sneaking her in the house to listen to before bed.

What a great trip! Voice was perfect for the character, Koontz got me right in there, felt like I was with a friend and listening to their tale. I had the "mystery " all figured out in the first oh say half of the book, only to be delightfully thwapped in the head by the real ending. It was great. Made me want more more more

  • What Should I Do with My Life? The True Story of People Who Answered the Ultimate Question

Best selling author Po Bronson began work on What Should I Do with My Life? at a time when he was asking himself that very question. For answers, he crossed the landscape of America to find people who have struggled to unearth their true calling - people of all ages, classes, and professions who have found fulfillment: those who fought with the seduction of money, intensity, and novelty and overcame their allure; those who broke away from the chorus to learn the sound of their own voice.

    J. Yoon says: "A bit childish"
    "Bleeeccchhh!!!"
    Overall

Oh this was just such a waste. We learn of what others did, great for them. I know a lot of people and I see what they've done, I want t ofigure out what I should be doing.
