Dead Bolt rates jumps right to the top of my favorite books for this year. I love this series.
I don't know about edge of the chair but it was such a fun book, moves fast, interesting characters and lots of ingredients to make it one of the best reads/listens ever.
I loved the performance that Xe Sands did, she gives a soft edge to Mel, who without Sands touch of class, would be somewhat brash and a bit of a hard person. Sands gives structure and fullness to all the people in the book.
I did listen in one sitting, I was transfixed with it. Nothing was going to interrupt my listen.
Excellent series from Juliet Blackwell. Blackwell really puts together a good story that's well balanced with lots of variety and surprises.
Right at the top of my A+ list.
When Spot blocks Pru from walking forward when there is danger ahead. Really shows how wonderful these helper dogs are and how they can be totally trusted by someone that has to rely on them completely.
OMG Tavia Gilbert is fantastic. I love everything about the way she handles the entire series. Her animal depictions are wonderful and all her other characters really come to life under her narration.
Can't say there is a particular moment. I just enjoy the animal interactions with Pru.
Although I love animal books like Pru Marlowe I think that the narration by Tavia Gilbert is 99% of my enjoyment just by the way she interprets the story.
The humor is priceless and is what really adds to the overall enjoyment of the book.
The crazy things that Pepe gets Geri Sullivan involved in.
Laura Darrell was a good reader. I would like it better if she used more definition between male and female characters. Sometimes it was hard to tell it was a male speaking. She also does a little to much on over emphasizing words so they don't flow well. Not a major problem but it is noticeable.
I did listen in almost one sitting.
I decided to try this book because the reviews were very good and I like a cozy mystery and some humor is always icing on the cake.
It ranks at the top. Juliet Blackwell is one of my very favorite authors. Her Haunting books will be my 2014 pick of the year for Best Series. Love them all
I liked that it moves along at a fast pace and there is always something unexpected happening.
Excellent. Xe Sands is a Rock Star in the Narrator world. Love every book she reads.
No extreme reactions, but it was a little creepy but always ending well.
Fun and fast paced. Lots of interesting characters and tons of funny quips. I love that Mel can see and hear ghosts.
I always prefer an audio version. A narrator can absolutely breathe life into a story and enliven characters in ways just reading doesn't do.
I did not have a special favorite character.
Really brought the story to dimensions my own reading would never imagined.
This was a fun concept, as I do enjoy time travel stories. There were some flaws in it which I hope will be resolved in a follow up book.
Indeed I would
Ms. Richardson has a sensitive and very feminine voice, I love listening to her. Her
reading added a lot to the story and my listening pleasure.
No one, I liked them all.
Wonderful book especially for history buffs. I love reading old pioneer letters and diaries. A book like this really brings history to life.
I would to a younger person or a avid romance reader.
Pearl Hewitt did a wonderful job narrating her voice is just great and so much emotion. She was exceptionally good with the older women's voices. Oh also the simpering was great. Loved her narration
I loved this book, it is laugh out loud funny, and full of wonderful details on renovating old houses.
Hard to say who a favorite character would be, I liked them all.
I liked the first time the ghost shows himself to Melanie.
I did listen to this book in one sitting. That's the great thing about audiobooks, you're free to do many other things while listening. With hard copy you're tethered to the book and turning the pages.
Xe Sands once again does a fantastic job narrating this book. She amplifies the story so well and makes the characters really pop.
I honestly liked everything about Glimmers, it was fun, moved fast, and was well written and narrated
I liked the way when she slipped into shoes from the used store and found herself in the past living another persons life.
Wow, it was just a super good narration, the narrator was excellent in her ability to change voices rapidly and she gave a good mood to the book. Can't praise the narration enough. Super good.
lol, Beware trying on used clothes.
This was a real good time travel book and the author did not leave anything unresolved. She pulled the different time periods together very skillfully. For a fun and somewhat light read, I think any time travel fan will enjoy it. I do recommend the audio version as the narrator brings much more to the story than just static reading of text.
I liked all the useful tips about feral cats, and cat care tips. I have many feral cats I've tamed and care for so its been very helpful. Don't let anyone tell you that a feral cat can't be tamed. They can, in their pussy cat hearts they all want a safe shelter, food, and love. Just like people.
I enjoyed the cat rescue theme of the story the best.
I loved it when Theda was unrelenting in rescuing Musetta from the cupboard, risking her own life to do so.
The terror and sheer anguish Theda experienced when she came home to find Musetta missing.
I did enjoy this book very much and did review it online in some depth. Tavia Gilbert, rescued this book with her amazing narration. I mean that in the sense that I was disappointed that Theda was not solving crimes by psychic communication with her cat. Otherwise it was a good story and Ms. Gilbert added just the right punch to it.
