The classic love story with a new spin...yawn. The small things about this story were interesting, but the overall premise I find to be rather over done.
Not nearly as good as the first two books in the trilogy. I felt like it was an anti-climatic ending and disappointed for having sat through the book and nothing awesome ever really happened. There was also a lot of really repetitive dialog. Really every conversation in the book could be boiled down to Danny whining that he just wants to go off in to a corner and die, and someone else saying they want him to go do something for them. Seriously, this book was set in a post apocalyptic world so I knew it would be depressing, but damn talk about annoying and abysmal. Very disappointed.
The really weird and ultra annoying introduction almost made me stop listening, but if you can fast forward through that and get to the actual speech, Liv actually does give out a few gems of helpful advice. The random sound effects thrown in are cheesy and a big turn off. Listen when you're in a good mood and feeling forgiving.
Really engaging and interesting story. I feel like the characters were well developed and I want to know what happens next in the story! The narrator did a great job and I will def be picking up the next book in the series.
Even though this book was written in the 50's I believe it is still very believable and relevant. The narrator did a good job and I was able to be fully absorbed in the story. Good listen and nice story. I'd recommend it.
Wow. I wasn't expecting such an amazing story. I was hooked by the premise and then slowly reeled in as the story unfolded. If a book can evoke an emotional response from me, it is rare and genuine. The part with Rolland in the chop shop did just that. The detail was powerful. The whole scene was riveting and gut wrenching. I felt like it was real. After finishing the book, I felt like the whole story was completely plausible and could be a reality we face in the not so distant future. I thought about the story intently for days after I read it. It's very relevant to now also in that this book brings up the Pro-Life and Pro-Choice debate which is active and heated. This book definitely made me think about all the angles in a new light and questions for the next book in the series which I hope will be released soon! It was a joy to read this book and I would recommend it highly.
The narrator did a good job with voicing different characters, did not distract from the story but the story itself was long (which is fine) but the ending was so abrupt it was a disappointment for me. If you're going to write a long book why end it with little to no resolution???
