""Corn"ucopia, literally..."
Although, I had my eye on reading this book for some time I ended up having to read this book for class. Audiobook was a big time saver during my morning commute. Book was incredibly dense at times, for instance the segment on corn seemed to go on for hours. However, I enjoyed the segments on Polyface farm and the foraging/ hunting expeditions with Angelo. Also of note is the book has many key characters that are in an excellent documentary film called FOOD INC.
"Withered Heights..."
I believe a previous reviewer said it best when he said the book should be called "What a bunch of a**holes." After listening to the Audiobook I ended up watching the recent PBS film adaption of the book. Mostly to get a different perspective on this classic story. I honestly felt that the book was a bit of a downer. Janet McTeer has a nice voice but her vocal impersonations of some of the characters made them sound so miserable, wretched and incredibly annoying, and as a result I felt no connection or sympathy with ANY of the characters.
""I think I just blue myself"..."
Loved this book and enjoyed it so much more with the narration by David Cross. He also added his own little comments here and there that were not in the book which made it extra special.
