"My favorite king book"
I actually went out and bought the actual book and I wouldn't say there was much of a difference for me. Some books I just can't listen to like Kurt Vonnegut books but I love to read them. However for Stephen King I just love his books in audio or print equally as much.
I actually got scaired a few times while listening to this! It's a spooky book. What made this book I think is that it's a modern day vampire and I could really place myself in the story pretty easily. As I mentioned earlier I love King books but I wouldn't label them as favorites because for me he just lacks that uniqueness that makes a book a favorite of mine. All throughout this book there are very clear references to Dracula and that kind of disappointed me. Overall though I liked this book and like I said it's my Stephen King favorite
"God Yes!"
Very unique, I listen to mostly fiction so these stories are true but out there.
Energy
This book is basically short stories about penn's life. Some are stories with a point but mostly it's just random stories. He does seem to start each chapter with one of the ten commandments and obviously he is critical of religion but it isn't a hitchens or dawkins book by any means.
"Fun Sci-fi"
Fun, silly, smart
No, This book kept me entertained for the whole time. I enjoyed all of it but I don't think I would spread the word on this book.
The story follows a Hollywood agent that is chosen by an alien race that wants to make contact with earth. The race of aliens are small blobs that have the power to heal and read peoples minds. The book was like ET but still unique. If you need a book to read and you aren't sure what to get, this one should do the trick.
"Pleasantly surpised"
This book was amazing. Originally I picked it up on sale just to have something to listen to and it was just a wonderful story. Along with a great story the reader was perfect for this one as well. Get this and read it, you won't be sorry!
"Top 5 favorite audio book!"
The whole story just got me from the first few minutes. I haven't read or listened to any books like this. I found it to be so unique
The part where the main character meets the creator of oasis james haliday
This book starts out with a world that has fallen apart and the only escape from reality is this fully interactive massive multi-player game called oasis. The story revolves around wade owens a poor teenager who has dedicated his life to finding the Easter egg that james haliday put into his game. The reason I loved this book was that not only was it unique but it was a book that had me from the start. There is every thing in this book from action to romance and in the end it's inspiring. I will listen to this book again for sure
"It was hard to stay focused the whole time..."
Yes, I have a few friends who are into survival and end of the word kin of stuff and this book really has some interesting insights into end of the world survival for sure!
I don't enjoy books that bounce around different characters. This book does that a lot! I would have made it focus on one person.
The end is a battle between these religious cannibals. I found that to be my favorite part of the book.
Overall I would say that if you see this book on sale it's a good listen but I wouldn't get this at full price. Its a fun listen if you like the stand, the road, earth abides or really any thing about the end of the world kind of story.
