Blythe Gifford’s spellbinding medieval romances have captured the hearts of fans and critics alike. Set in 14th-century England, In the Master’s Bed features Jane de Weston, a young woman who decides to disguise herself as a man to gain her independence. What she doesn’t count on is falling for Duncan, the strapping Scotsman who takes her on as his apprentice. When he discovers Jane’s deception, Duncan knows he should send her away, but the yearning he feels for her is begging to be unleashed - and Jane is a very willing pupil.

Overall the book had an intersting story line and the narrator was very good. However, the quick wrap up at the end ruined it for me. The story was going very well until the last hour or so then everything just seemed to be kicked into high gear, things were resolved and the happy ending complete. If the author would have just taken her time like she did the rest of the story it would have been a much more enjoyable listen.

Your toddler throws a tantrum in the middle of a store. Your preschooler refuses to get dressed. Your fifth-grader sulks on the bench instead of playing on the field. Do children conspire to make their parents’ lives endlessly challenging? No - it’s just their developing brain calling the shots! In this pioneering, practical book, Daniel J. Siegel, neuropsychiatrist and author of the best-selling Mindsight, and parenting expert Tina Payne Bryson demystify the meltdowns and aggravation, explaining the new science of how a child’s brain is wired and how it matures.

In this book, Galaxy tells the poignant story of his 13-year relationship with a petite gray-and-white short-haired cat named Benny, and gives singular advice for living with, caring for, and loving the feline in your home. When Benny arrived in his life, Galaxy was a down-and-out rock musician with not too much more going on than a part-time job at an animal shelter and a drug problem. Benny's previous owner brought the cat to the shelter in a cardboard box to give him up.

    Story

I really liked the overall premise of this story. Jackson told all about his life and his struggles and how his cat changed his world view and his view of himself as part of the world. The only thing that frustrated me about this book was the almost constant use of metaphors it really took away from what he was trying to say. VERY DISTRACTING but worth wading through in the end.

When the young orphan called Pip encounters the escaped convict Magwitch, the child's life is altered forever - in ways he cannot even imagine. In the course of his story, Pip encounters such memorable characters as the eccentric Miss Havisham and her beautiful ward Estella - and a mysterious benefactor. This recording includes both of the endings Dickens wrote for this classic novel.

    Story

I have listened to other novels by Charles Dickens & loved them but I just could not finish this one. The narrator was OK but at times I felt like I was listening to a book written in a foreign language. The English of the time period in which this book was written is so different from the English spoken in America today that I really did not know what the characters were taking about. I simply got board and frustrated and could not finish the book.

I loved this book and was very sad when it ended. I did not like the ending however it really leaves you wanting more. I actually thought something was wrong with the download and the ending was cut off. The characters are wonderful and the story made you feel like you knew them each personally. The audio was poor and the volume kept changing at times the voice of Gus was so loud it hurt my ears then everything got very soft. The narrator was wonderful but the poor audio quality was frustrating. However it would take more than that to ruin this story. I would highly recommend this book to everyone it's got romance, drama and action. You will never want the story to end.

"Marriage is God's answer for our deepest human need: Companionship." And that, according to counselor and relationship expert Dr. Gary Chapman, author of the New York Times best seller The Five Love Languages, is to have deep and lasting union with another, to truly become one. But how can you build that oneness from the beginning?

I have already listened to this book twice and I am about to listen again. I also ordered the book and I have read it as well. It has so much to offer a marriage. I also got my husband to listen to it and we are going to use the written book to complete the suggested assignments at the end of each chapter. It has already begun to improve my marriage just by listening. Dr. Chapman's books offer the Christian an excellent resource for a better more Christ filled & happy life.

A hand-picked cadre of warriors, they had the fierce courage of their Scots forefathers, combined with the stealth and cunning of the Indians who lived beside them in the wilderness. Battling the French in a no-holds-barred combat, they forged a new brand of honor, became a new breed of men - MacKinnon's Rangers. Iain MacKinnon had been forced to serve the British crown, but compassion urged him to save the lovely lass facing certain death at the hands of the Abenaki. He'd defied his orders, endangered his brothers, his men and his mission, all for a woman. But when he held Annie's sweet body in his arms, he could feel no regret.

I have listened to a lot of these kinds of stories and most can hold my interest. However this one did not. The narrator was good but the story line was so predictable that I could not even finish the book. I got board. The sex in the book was also to graphic for me and I think it was a failed attempt to make the story more interesting. For me it ruined what little the story had. Even though I did not finish the book I have no doubt about the ending. My main thought about the book was as I stated before PREDICTABLE.
