The first book written by C.S. Lewis after his conversion, The Pilgrim's Regress is, in a sense, a record of Lewis's own search for meaning and spiritual satisfaction that eventually led him to Christianity.

I'm not sure what I expected out of this book. I guess I was hoping it would be something like Mere Christianity but it could not be further from it. The characters were interesting and I kept listening because I thought that sooner or later I would get the point and understand the meaning to his dream. I never did...

Weaving a vibrant tapestry of fact and fiction, Into the Wilderness sweeps us into another time and place...and into the heart of a forbidden, incandescent affair between a spinster Englishwoman and an American frontiersman. Here is an epic of romance and history that will captivate readers from the very first page.

Excellent narrator she moved between English and the Native American language with ease. Well written story full of adventure, mystery and romance. The book is very long but I got so interested in the story I did not notice and never wanted it to end.

I got this book on a 4.95 sale and I was pleasantly surprised. Narrator is not the best and at times I could not tell who was supposed to be talking because all her voices sound so similar. The story line is interesting and I hope audible gets the rest of the series soon.

Judith Hampton was as beautiful as she was proud and loyal. Her dear Scottish friend from childhood was about to give birth, and Judith had promised to be at her side. But there was another reason for the journey from her bleak English home to the Highlands: to meet the father she had never known, the Laird Maclean. Nothing prepared her, however, for the sight of the Scottish barbarian who was to escort her into his land...Iain Maitland, laird of his clan, a man more powerfully compelling than any she had ever encountered.

A highly decorated captain in the U.S. Army, Luis Montalvan never backed down from a challenge during his two tours of duty in Iraq. After returning home, however, the pressures of his physical wounds, traumatic brain injury, and post-traumatic stress disorder began to take their toll. In constant physical pain, he soon found himself unable to climb a simple flight of stairs or face a bus ride to the VA hospital. He drank; he argued; he cut himself off from those he loved. Then Luis met Tuesday, a beautiful and sensitive golden retriever....

Excellent listen. PTSD is explained in real world terms that offers not only insight into how PTSD effects our Veterans when they return home but how PTSD begins in the War Zone. I hope someday to meet Tuesday and Luis. Their story can be a useful tool in helping our service men and women understand and cope with the life long effects of PTSD.

The Remains of the Day is a profoundly compelling portrait of the perfect English butler and of his fading, insular world in postwar England. At the end of his three decades of service at Darlington Hall, Stevens embarks on a country drive, during which he looks back over his career to reassure himself that he has served humanity by serving "a great gentleman". But lurking in his memory are doubts about the true nature of Lord Darlington's "greatness" and graver doubts about his own faith in the man he served.

I purchased the book because I liked the movie & I wanted to know if there was more to the story. There is but not as much or in the way that I had hoped. The story was OK and the narrator was good but it was a little dissappointing and jumped around a lot which at times made it hard to follow.
