It began in the graveyard.... Ever since her boyfriend Nathan had died in a tragic accident, Emma had been coming to the graveyard at night. During the day she went through the motions at her prep school, in class, with her friends, but that’s all it was. For Emma, life had stopped with Nathan’s death. But tonight was different. Tonight Emma and her dog were not alone in the cemetery. There were two others there - Eric, who had just started at her school, and an ancient woman who looked as though she were made of rags.

I loved Michelle's 'Cast in' series. This new book was so disappointing. Not the quality of her first series of work. I was three hours into the book and waiting for it to actually start. The story never got ground, the characters were one-dimensional. I am returning this book. Hopeful for future work from her since her first series I was addicted to! Oh, and the narrator was not easy to listen to. It was like she didn't stay a consistent distance from the microphone. The volume would go so soft at times I had to replay it to hear it.

I have followed this series since the beginning. Actually, a number of my friends and I have kept up with the new releases. We all agree -- this book was so disappointing. I couldn't past the first two hours of this book. I have returned it. I wont be following this book series anymore.

PS - The movie that was released based loosely on the first book - horrid!! Don't watch if you like this book series. It will warp the characters. :-(

Amy came to Rosemary Cottage to grieve, to heal, maybe even find love. But there’s a deadly undertow of secrets around Hope Island.... The charming Rosemary Cottage on the beach offers Amy Lange respite she needs to mourn her brother, Ben. She’s even thinking of moving her midwife practice to the Outer Banks community. Coast Guard officer Curtis Ireland has lost a sibling, too. His sister, Gina, was run down by a boat, leaving him to raise her infant daughter. If anyone knew who little Raine’s father was, Curtis could lose his beloved niece. Yet he can’t help being drawn to Hope Beach’s new midwife, Amy.

I was in search of a new book series and a friend suggested Janet Evanovich and I am SUPER glad! The story-line is really funny and it is enjoyable to listen to without being too deep or dramatic. I couldn't wait for my credits to arrive next month before getting the next book!

And Rob is a former gang-banger who struggles with guilt, pain, and a new-found faith in God. These four college students will face the ultimate battle between good and evil in a single year. As spiritual warfare rages around them, a dramatic demonic correspondence takes place.

This is a great book that any parent or teen should hear/read. It reminded me somewhat of Frank Parretti's This Present Darkness and sequel but this definitely stands on its own merits. This is the first fiction of Alcorn's I've read and I am impressed. I have loved his non-fiction for years and this was same caliber.

Wonderful story, however, the music ending a chapter and between chapters was annoying and distracting. The second book of the series was even better, so I would urge someone to overlook the music! It's worth it! And the second book (which I just completed) does NOT have the music.
