I know I should wait until I am finished listening to the book but I am 3/4 of the way through the second part and ready to just give up. Only with Will Patton narrating was I able to even get this far. This story just rambles on and on and on and most of the things the characters are doing are just simply stupid at best! The story line is absurb. Save your money.
I should have listened to the one negative review here instead of all the other 4 and 5 star reviews. Were they all listening to the same book? I cannot even try to explain how soporifically this book is written. All I know is I'm half way through and thanks to Audible I will get my money back!
I am a huge fan of Sandford and the character but this story is just majorly way too hard to follow. You would need to make a spread sheet of the characters just to even try to keep up with what is going on but even that would not help I'm afraid.
This is hands down one of the finest books I have EVER listened to on Audible. I am on book three of the series and the only down side is that I have no idea what I will do after I've completed book four (the last in the series). Hopefully, this author will continue to write and Audible will PLEASE KEEP the narrator! One of the best I've heard in a long time.
I should have listened to the few negative reviews on this book before wasting my money! I am quitting listening after the first hour or so...can't take any more than that...totally unbelievable story...almost amateurish.
As usual Richard Ferrone is perfect. I love all of John Sandford's "Prey" books and was excited to find another book by him that I had not listened to. I can't even get past a hour of listening. I quit. This book is bordering of just plain silly! Maybe it gets exciting and starts to make sense further on but I'm way to disappointed and bored to go any further. Going to ask for a refund on this one.
I look at all these reviews and wonder how so many people can have such a different view then myself. The story line is sophomoric with idiotic dialog that just is not like normal conversation, the narrator sounds like a high school kid and after investing time in listening to half the book I can't take any more.
Idiotic story, unbelievably poor narrator...once again I got sucked in to purchasing a book based on other reviews and I'm having a hard time figuring out what book they were listening to. I guess I owe it to myself to continue listening but the narrator is driving me crazy.
This is a 3 "No Stars" book!
...because I have not finished the book yet. I'm simply wondering: what the heck happened to the Richard Ferrone that I've grown to love with all the other Sandford books??? He almost sounds like he's trying to copy Scott Brick's (worst narrator here) constant sarcastic tone of voice. He almost sounds like a different person. But, there's enough of himself in there for me to at least try to finish the book.
Well, I made it to chapter 14! That's it for this grade school level writing. How so many people could give this a great review is just totally baffling to me. The narrator is terrible...I don't know whether he is using his real accent (annoying) or if he's talking with that accent on purpose but it just does not work. He's not as bad as Scott Brick but close. The story is the worst part...slogging along and about as boring as it gets. Maybe I'm wrong and I just didn't invest enough time with it. Maybe I should have waited until the middle chapters but I had to give up. Waste of time. Sorry.
