June and Day have sacrificed so much for the people of the Republic - and each other - and now their country is on the brink of a new existence. June is back in the good graces of the Republic, working within the government's elite circles as Princeps Elect while Day has been assigned a high level military position. But neither could have predicted the circumstances that will reunite them once again. Just when a peace treaty is imminent, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colonies, and war threatens the Republic's border cities.

    Any additional comments?

Slight twists to the ending, but still a little bit predictable. Predictable in a good way that you enjoy listening to it even though you have already guessed how the majority of the plot turns out.

The selection began with 35 girls. Now, with the group narrowed down to the Elite, the competition to win Prince Maxon's love is fiercer than ever. The closer America gets to the crown, the more she struggles to figure out where her heart truly lies. Each moment she spends with Maxon is like a fairy tale, filled with breathless, glittering romance. But whenever she sees her first love, Aspen, standing guard, she's swept up in longing for the life they'd planned to share.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the dystopian quality of the book, and despite my best efforts actually enjoy relating the plot to a season of "the bachelor".

    Any additional comments?

Still a very abrupt ending although the second book actually has climatic effect more than the first did.

Experience Ender’s Game as you’ve never heard it before! With an all-new, original script written by Orson Scott Card, Ender’s Game Alive is a full-cast audio drama that reimagines the Hugo and Nebula Award-winning classic.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Full Cast Recording?

Full cast recording is a very interesting way to listen to a book. Very cool.

    Any additional comments?

While, I liked the performance aspect, the music at every chapter gets annoying very quickly. The plot was predictable, and although Sci-Fi isn't my normal choice, it was interesting enough that I finished the book instead of putting it down.

When 15-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing, not even a smear of blood, to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

Disappointed to find this book, and what I attempted of the second book in the series (in case it was a first book only problem), dragged on without anything of real interest. The "downworlders" of the book are not interesting to hear about. The plot is highly predictable. I listened to the book mostly out of boredom while I decided what to read next. Friends insisted the series was great, so I tried again with book 2 only to give up an hour or so in. Very boring.

For 35 girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime: the opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth... to be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels... to live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon. But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her, and leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

There was hardly any sort of climatic peak in this book. Perhaps the publisher split the books up and it just wound up that way.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Abrupt....It just sort of stops out of nowhere.
