But if he yields to the forces of hatred, he will be eternally damned. Nicola Lane was born with a defective heart, yet this fragile human shows surprising strength as demons stalk her every move, determined to end her. She is the key to Koldo' deliverance...and his downfall.

Although I like the LOTU series better, this series is good too. Another tortured soul in need of some loving. I laughed and I cried, I only wished it had better sex scenes but was moved by what Koldo has learns and what he is willing to sacrifice for his woman. I enjoyed watching Nicola learn to be strong and let go of the darkness in her life. Max Bellmore does it again. He has a rich sexy voice that is very easy on the ears. If you like Gena Showalter I recommend reading Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Hunter series and Thea Harrison Elder series.

No matter how much the paranormal politics of Atlanta change, one thing always remains the same: If there' s trouble, Kate Daniels will be in the middle of it. As the mate of the Beast Lord, Curran, former mercenary Kate Daniels has more responsibilities than it seems possible to juggle. Not only is she still struggling to keep her investigative business afloat, she must now deal with the affairs of the pack, including preparing her people for attack from Roland, a cruel ancient being with god-like powers.

The first 45 minutes is just a list of the characters and a recap of events from the other books. So if you have been reading this series at all you won't need to read it if you don't want to.

This series need to be a TV series. I think Jessica Alba would make a perfect Kate Daniels. There is a lot that happens in this book. This series is full of great characters, action, adventure, romance and a touch of crazy. Thank God there will be at least 3 more books to come. I miss Marigold the mule and am glad we have another the crazy donkey Cuddles to entertain us. Narrator does such a great job she is now Kate Daniels in my eyes.

Magic Test is a short bonus story at the end that is all about Julie starting a new school. 1 hr 15 mins.

There is so much fun and adventure in this series I can't wait to read more. If you are a fan of children's book such as Harry Potter or Percy Jackson then you should get this series to try out. Although this book is not as long or intricate it is still totally worth reading, also the stories are totally different. Do read How to Train your Dragon books in order for max enjoyment. David Tennant is an awesome narrator. He really makes this already great book, ten times better.

A fun adventure for all ages. My family listened to this while on a trip and the driving time just flew by. Hiccup and Toothless are defiantly the underdogs and have lots of adversity to overcome. I just love Gobber the Belch, he cracks me up. Dog Breathe, Snot Lout, Fish Legs, Warty Hog what crazy names. The narration is super funny, I like how it explains the book at odd times. I think they could have cut down on the sound in between chapters, but this one was better than the first in that respect. The narrator does an excellent job.

In the secluded Dutch territory of Sleepy Hollow, nebbish schoolmaster Ichabod Crane competes with the town hero for the hand of Katrina Van Tassel, the 18-year-old daughter and sole child of a wealthy farmer. As Crane leaves a party at the Van Tassel's farm one autumn evening, he is pursued by the Headless Horseman, an apparition said to be the ghost of a Hessian trooper snuffed out by a stray cannonball.

I have always like the story for the Headless Horseman. With this book being written quite some time ago it does show the type of writing for the time. Very descriptive and without much dialog, truthfully my least kind of writing. With it being so short it was a nice break from the norm. Narrator has British accent. Thanks Audible for the freebie.

    Story

Don't read this book if language, talk of rape, torture or killing bothers you, it is very graphic. The content comes directly from serial killers and no punches are held back. Even I had a hard time with it and thought TMI was added. With that said the story was so engrossing. What does it say about me, when I have a fascination with serial killers. I don't know, but thankfully it is only a passing interest. The author mentions serial killers that I had not heard of both past and present ones. I happened to look the names up to find out what they had done. As morbid as it is, it was also fascinating. As for the story about Tony's tragedy it is amazing how people are able to overcome life, this part of the book was an emotional roller coaster. Narrator is a little monotone, but as you continue on with the story he really fits the part.

At five and 20, Prudence Merryweather knew very well the risks a woman took by visiting a gentleman in the dead of night. But bearding the notorious Earl of Angelstone in his den was the only way to stop him from engaging her hot-headed brother in a duel. And that was why she found herself ushered into Sebastian's forbidding presence at three in the morning - and thoroughly kissed before dawn.

    Story

Amanda Quick's books are all about the headstrong heroine and the dark, brooding hero although this one is a bit overbearing. There is always a mystery and a villain in the background. There is a formula that Amanda Quick uses when writing that is very predictable. What I like about these book is that they are good for a simple read and a quick getaway from everyday life. Narrator is okay, a little on the breathy side.

Mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate, Curran, the Beast Lord, are struggling to solve a heartbreaking crisis. Unable to control their beasts, many of the Pack’s shape-shifting children fail to survive to adulthood. While there is a medicine that can help, the secret to its making is closely guarded by the European packs, and there’s little available in Atlanta. Kate can’t bear to watch innocents suffer, but the solution she and Curran have found threatens to be even more painful. The European shape-shifters who once outmaneuvered the Beast Lord have asked him to arbitrate a dispute - and they’ll pay him in medicine.

Another awesome book by Ilona Andrews. I laugh, I cried, I was so engrossed the book flew by. I love Kate, she is defiantly a kick assery gal. I was annoyed with Curren in this book, but I got over it pretty quickly. The characters really develop in this book. There is lots of tragedy and violence in this book. I'm so glad I gave this series a second chance because I wasn't in love with the first book, but the series only gets better. I do recommend reading in order, this isn't a stand alone series. Narrator is good and she is now Kate in my mind.

At the end there is a deleted scene of Simone's rescue that is mentioned in the book. 1 hr.

We're the D'Artigo sisters: Half-human, half-Faerie, we are savvy - and sexy - operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But our mixed-blood heritage short-circuits our talents at all the wrong times. My sister Delilah shapeshifts into a tabby cat whenever she's stressed. Menolly's a vampire who is still trying to get the hang of being undead. And me? I'm Camille - a wicked-good witch. Except my magic is as unpredictable as the weather, which my enemies are about to find out the hard way.

This is the third book in a row, where the characters in a book just didn't excite me. I must be on a roll. I didn't care for the romance in this book either, well if you can call it that. There was more than one man involved with the heroine and they all seemed okay with it. I won't be continuing on with this series. I had hoped it would be funnier, but it wasn't. What the story had going for it was there was some action and a lot of Lore. Unfortunately the story seemed a bit choppy, this didn't bother me too bad if only I had actually cared for the characters I might have continue with the series. Narrator was good, I have enjoyed her work in the past.

For nearly six centuries I have roamed the night, a mortal man no longer. Would that I could undo the past -- when I entered the sanctuary of the Knights Templar to wrest from them the Holy Grail, only to discover the chalice I raised to my lips was not the sacred relic but a hellish cup of damnation. Now I shun the day and all things human, driven by an ungodly thirst. And yet...

This book was soooooo sloowwwww. Between nothing happening and the narrator I did the head bob several times. The story was okay but I couldn't get sucked in and found myself pausing it often because my mind would wonder. The romance was sadly lacking passion and the book had no action, it was a boring book. I didn't get any sparks from the characters and could have cared less what happened to them. I also have a hard time believing the sex due to the heroine having uterine cancer. Oh and it mention she was dying almost every chapter. When I started this book, I did not expect the book to be set in 1899. I had assumed it was a modern day story. This wouldn't have bothered me if something had actually happened. Narrator sounded like an old smoker that did not have any inflection in her voice.

It was okay for a second book, but I didn't quite like it as well as the first book. There was a little bit too much teenage angst for me. I didn't like the way the relationship went with Lela and Malaki, it eventually resolved itself, sorta. I don't mind teenage stories, but sometimes they are just a little to juvenile for me. I feel that if the author had not focused so much effort on the high school part of the book the story would have been much better. First book was way better and I suspect the third book will be too. I like the creativity with the different versions of hell and I probably will listen to the next book. Narrator is good.
