Although I like the LOTU series better, this series is good too. Another tortured soul in need of some loving. I laughed and I cried, I only wished it had better sex scenes but was moved by what Koldo has learns and what he is willing to sacrifice for his woman. I enjoyed watching Nicola learn to be strong and let go of the darkness in her life. Max Bellmore does it again. He has a rich sexy voice that is very easy on the ears. If you like Gena Showalter I recommend reading Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Hunter series and Thea Harrison Elder series.

The New York Times best-selling author of Ransom weaves the delightful, sensual story of two lovers destined for high adventure and blissful rapture! A child bride, Sara Winchester had grown into a winsome beauty, joyfully anticipating the day when her husband Nathan, Marquess of St. James, would return to claim her heart at last. Nathan had never bared his soul to any woman, but he was soon utterly beguiled and exasperated by Sara’s sweet, defiant ways. With their future at stake, they would discover the true destiny of their passion... for all time!

One of my favorite books as a teenager. Yes, Sara is a naïve girl, but she is so good natured and makes me laugh at her antics you gotta love her. Sometimes you don't always want to read the same type of character in books and Sara is different. To me this a warm hearted romance and if you are looking for a light adventure this could be for you. Of course this is the third book in the series so you may want to read the other two books first, but I think it can be read as a stand alone. Narrator is okay, I will admit she is not my favorite but she does a better job in this book than the last two book in the series.

Andrea Nash's story is a great addition to Kate Daniel's series. I recommend reading Kate Daniel's series first, there is a lot of references from that book. This book is equally as good as Kate's story. I hope there are more side books with stories from other characters soon. But I am happy with Kate's. Andrea is a little more high maintenance and has to overcome herself a bit in this book. We do get to see more of her background and to figure out how she became who she is. Rafael is a pill at first, but he doesn't know what to do with a woman quite like Andrea. It was good to see all the other characters from another point of view; it makes the book all the more interesting. Narrator does a good job; the more I listen to her the better she is for the part.

Miss Honaria Honeyford was sent to London to save the family fortune by hunting a wealthy husband - and being a loving (if not entirely dutiful) daughter, she obeyed. But if she was reluctantly willing to surrender her hand, this beautiful young lady who could ride, shoot, and argue with any man was not about to lose her head or heart to the dismal dandies of the Marriage Mart. First she met the arrogantly attractive Lord Alistair Stewart, who treated her infuriatingly like a little girl. And then she met the skillfully seductive Lord Channington, who treated her intoxicatingly like a desirable woman....

    Story

Miss Honeyford was a quick and easy regency read, no sex for those who don't like it. It had potential while some parts were good, others bugged me. I did liked the tension and interactions that was between Lord Alistair and Honey, before they fell in love. While this book is not a laugh out loud kind of book, there were a couple of amusing parts. What bugged me was that Honey started out with a strong personality then basically became a regular debutant. She does eventually come back to herself, but with such a short book it didn't work as well. I felt like the main characters needed a little more time to fall in love. Honey and Alistair seemed to hate each other until they were in love, without much reasoning. I almost thought I missed a part when it happened. While this is a good book for a sale I wouldn't use a credit on it. Narrator was good.

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

    Story

This book was a selection for my book club. I have always wanted to read this book, so I was excited to have this book selected, I just wish it had lived up to the hype. I know this book is widely loved but it just wasn't for me. I liked the world that has been built in the book, unfortunately the story line was mostly boring. Frank Herbert is defiantly a pioneer for fantasy/sci-fi. I see his influence in many things, but having an idea and pulling it off are completely different things. I am a fan of fantasy and I know I am in the minority here but I couldn't get excited for this book once I started reading.

It was a bit slow at first and it took me some time to get through it, although it does pick up slightly about 7 hours into the book. My biggest complaint was the beginning of chapters sometimes summarized the story so there was no surprises. It felt like reading pages from the back of the book, which annoys me. There was lots of build up for action but ultimately it was anticlimactic. There was a little too much politics, which may be great for some but I tended to zone out at those times. Sorry but I don't like politics, poetry, or drawn out epic stories that are snooze worthy. There needed to be a better balance for politics, action and character development.

The characters are mostly unlikeable. Jessica did seem a bit self-righteous and I wasn't a fan of hers. Her character seemed to switch back and forth from strong willed to weakling. I could not see Paul as a great prophet. I'm still not sure what it is that bugs me about him, I just know I didn't like him. He was almost an anti-dooms day messiah not one who is supposed to save the world. To me the best character in the book was Paul's sister Alia, she had spunk. Unfortunately she was only in it the last two hours or so.

I did enjoy the narrations, which to me helped keep me focused on the story. The back ground noise was subtle and added depth to the audio. I personally don't like dual or multiple narration, so I don't get why there is so many complaints about in for this audio. My only complaint would be that sometimes the voices would be out of character, like the narrator forgot to change their voices for a specific person.

Anyway if you are a die-hard fantasy/sci-fi fan this book may be for you. I think the vast majority of fans for this book are those who read this book at a young age. As for me I won't be continuing on with the series. The buck stops here.

I'm a huge fan of the Scanguards series so I went ahead and gave this book a try. I did enjoy this book it is a nice piece of romantic fluff, although I like the other series better. I am also a fan of stories with the Greek mythology included, my favorite being Sherrilyn Kenyon for romance and Percy Jackson for kids. The story line wouldn't have been my first pick, but since it was Tina Folsom I gave it a try. With that in mind I wasn't a huge fan of Triton, he does improve immensely which is why I continued on with the story. Overall a 3.5 rating. I will probably read the remaining books eventually, but I might wait for a sale. Narrator is good, he has a nice sexy voice.

An enjoyable romantic tale of time travel. I would have like to have seen more length to the story for I believe there was more to be told. I liked the characters and the world building was good for the length. The narrator does a great job reading. I did pick this up with the 25% off semiannual sale and it was worth the price.

Plagued by a war between magic and technology, Atlanta has never been so deadly. Good thing Kate Daniels is on the job. Kate Daniels may have quit the Order of Merciful Aid, but she's still knee-deep in paranormal problems. Or she would be if she could get someone to hire her. Starting her own business has been more challenging than she thought it would be - now that the Order is disparaging her good name, and many potential clients are afraid of getting on the bad side of the Beast Lord, who just happens to be Kate's mate.

Another great addition to the Kate Daniels series. I love Kate's smart ass, kick butt character and Curran's alpha nature. Life after mating isn't all chocolate and roses, sometimes you have to save the city in between. I appreciate that there is a good supernatural mystery going on in the story even if sometimes it was a bit confusing. I will say this isn't my favorite book in this series, but all are good and I plan on reading all the books in the series. It did throw me off for a sec when the audio stated that "this is the end of the cd." I imagine it was missed when editing the audio. Narrator was great and has a perfect tone for Kate's dry wit.

I had pre-ordered this book but after reading all the negative reviews I was reluctant to listen to this book. Since I don't like to leave things unfinished I decided to go ahead and read it. I really wish I hadn't. The writing is the same but I wish the story line had been better. It was very disappointing with a crappy ending and a weird change of direction for the story. Maybe I'll like the movies better. I liked both of the narrators, even though I'm not a fan of duel narrations. Which was another weird change to get both Tris and Four's point of view, when in the first two book there was only Tris.

This book seems to be geared more towards hoarders or forgetful people. There are lots of good tips for people who need it, but the book really wasn't for me. I'm totally a get rid of stuff person and I don't like nick knacks. I bought this on sale thinking maybe a new organization tip would help, only most the information I already knew and the author was condescending especially since he thought his way was the only way. Truthfully I didn't actually finish this book because there was nothing new for me. I grew up with a father who has OCD so doing things perfect were a way of life for me. But when I had my son, time grew thin. Then one year later I was diagnosed with cancer and at that point I stopped doing things perfect. Luckily I'm now in remission and I'm still really organized. I learned that I don't have to have every spot gone or all the chores done right away. Life is too short not to go and do the things you want or be with the people you love.

It’s not easy being life’s own personal joke, but Josette Landry has made an unstable peace with the beast. Life will continue to throw every bad thing it has at her, and she will continue to not put her head in an oven. But that’s okay. That which doesn’t kill her will just require a few hours of mental insanity. Completely down on her luck, Josette takes a job with a local paranormal group as a photographer and camerawoman. Yeah, they’re even crazier than she is. The only paranormal thing she believes in is the miracle that keeps her rusted out hoopty running.

I felt like this book was the return to SK regular books. Sherrilyn Kenyon is the queen of tortured hero's and this book is no exception. Luckily it was one where the hero wasn't so tortured that it was too painful to listen to. I'm always a sucker for a sassy heroine and Jo was great. Of course it was practically love at first sight which is a little unbelievable, but the story of how they escaped together for their happily ever after was the true story. I had quite of few chuckles over the freaky Friday moments. I also loved the return of old characters from books past. I don't recommend reading this book or any in the series without reading them in order. Narrator rocks of course, gotta love Holter Graham.
