    Story

Story was not what I expected. More a political battle between two communes/ cult that supposedly have big clout over the world. The chemistry between the two started off hot but there was no other action. The sparks were there, but I like more action between the sheets. The writing was good the story original but too short, I believe the story could have been extended for a better book. I didn't realize it was the beginning of a series until after I had listened to it, so I will be getting the rest. Narration was good. Defiantly worth the price.

It seems like an easy assignment for an assertive but sweet woman like Gracie Snow: track down her friend, Bobby Denton, a famous ex-jock, and bring him to Heaven (Texas, that is) to shoot a movie. How could he refuse a glamorous offer like that? Easy....

While the story had promise it was ruined by the characters. I couldn't stand either Bobby Tom or Gracie. Bobby Tom was a male chauvinist pig, who thinks he is god's gift to women. He basically thinks he is doing Gracie a favor by being with her. Gracie is worse she has no self-pride and is so desperate for BT. She falls in love with him within two days and does everything to make sure she pleases him even as she thinks she isn't good enough for BT. She is a doormat, which I can't stand women who don't stick up for themselves even/especially if they are not perfect. I contemplated not finishing the book several times, what kept me going is I wanted to find out how the mother's story ended. There were some funny parts and I didn't feel bored which is why I would give it 2.5 stars which is low for me because I usaully am pretty happy to please. It is just my overall dislike of the characters that have ruined this book for me. I have read It Had to Be You and Match Me if You Can and had high hopes for this book since I liked those two. Heaven, Texas has made me very indecisive about the rest of the series or anything at all from this author. The narrator was clear and I enjoyed her voice even if she sounds like Ellen DeGeneres to me.

Weddings have the strangest effect on people. How else to explain the fact that Sissy woke up in Mitch's bed the morning after her brother Bobby Ray tied the knot? Or that gunmen are trying to kill Mitch. Sissy Mae now has to escort a bleeding, stubborn, yet still incredibly sexy lion shifter to her Tennessee Pack's turf to keep him safe? It doesn't help that Mitch's appraising gaze makes her feel like the most desirable creature on earth, or that the ultimate stray cat is suddenly acting all kinds of possessive.

This is another fun addition to the pride series. I love the dysfunction and that not everything is prissy and serious in these book. Sometimes you need to have a quirky story to even things up. I laughed every time Mitch was hungry and I laughed when the men tried to have a tug-a-war with the alligator. There is no mating in this book, were as in the first three stories that was a big deal for the characters, I thought that was weird. I was a little leery of Sissy Mae because I wasn't sure I would like her, she was on the line for me with the other books. In the end I grew to like her. These book should be read in order to get the full effect. My only complaint is with the action scene I wish there had been more action or drama and that it wasn't over with so quickly. I find that the accent from the Bronx to grate on my nerves some, but other than that I liked the narrator.

Some things are so worth waiting for. Like the moment when Jessica Ward "accidentally" bumps into Bobby Ray Smith and shows him just how far she's come since high school. Back then, Jess's gangly limbs and bruised heart turned to jelly any time Smitty's "all the better to ravish you with" body came near her. So, some things haven't changed. Except now Jess is a success on her own terms. And she can enjoy a romp - or 20 -with a big, bad wolf and walk away. Easy.

    Story

This is a great shifter book, with different types of shifters in the book. What is great is that they actually have some of the traits of the real animals. Great characters in this book that has made me anticipate their stories, can't wait to read more. I loved Jessie Ann she is a girl after my own heart. Very sexy men with the right amount of testosterone to keep a girl's heart pounding. There is lots of humor to the story, sometimes I would be laughing out loud, but plenty of smiling like a loon moments. I do wish there was a little more action to the story but I still enjoyed the book very much, I would defiantly classify this book as a romance. I didn't mind the narrator too much, but occasionally she would end her sentences with a screech that was a little distracting. Recommend reading Molly Harper or Katie Macalister for funny romances. Although not quite as funny I would also recommend Tina Folsom's Scanguard series or Nalini Singh's Psy-Changling series.

I'm really enjoying this series, it's like my favorite blanket. Glad to have it around and it gives me a nice warm, fuzzy feeling afterwards. The more you read this series the more you get hooked. This is a nice clean series for those who are not into sex. I personally would like to see more romance added, there are plenty of candidates to choose from. I'm leaning towards Sailor, but who knows if that will happen. Lily in a way reminds me of Sookie from Charlaine Harris's series, but the story is way different though. Lily is sweet and would do anything to help a friend, which is how she gets herself into trouble. Narrator is slightly annoying, but I'm good at focusing on the story and at book three I'm getting use to her.

In the first book, my review was positive, but it didn’t start out that way. I listened longer and my opinion of the first book improved immensely. With that in mind I purchase the second book, hoping with all the positive reviews that it only gets better. But again I’m 2 hours into the book and wondering should I finish. After finally finishing this book I'm irritated, it's just like what all the other reviewers are saying, there is no ending. It just stops right at the climax of the story. I don't mind trilogies but you need to at least finish a part of the story to end a book. I also feel that the characters are not overly developed and I know I would have been one of the towns folk that was immediately terminated, because I wouldn’t stand to be a stepford wife. I don't like the way the relationship is heading with Teresa/Ethan/Adam thing. I'm not sure I will purchase the next book. So my suggestion is buy this if it is on sale but only if you liked the first book really well.

As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything - and everyone - at risk. Okay I will admit that I am not as enthralled with the BDB as with some of the other reviewers. I like it granted but it is defiantly not one of my favorite series. These books are a hit or a miss for me, this one is leaning more towards a hit. As usual there is more than one story to the book.

First we have Wrath's and Beth's story where they are at odds on whether or not to have a baby. They then get together better than ever to fight The Glamaria/BOB. There is a beautiful scene with Elvis involved and then later when they get good news. Then we throw in Wrath's parents story and get to know them better, which puts our knowledge of Wrath in a new prospective. Both stories are a great addition to the series.

Next we have Asail and Sola's story, which was better in this book vs the last book. Grandma is a hoot. I am not sure why JR Ward felt she needed to bring in a complete outside story and characters when there are still stories she has left undone. I feel that this story is just a shadow of Rhevenge's story. Overall I think it could have been skipped completely and because I think this I only gave this book 4 stars.

Then we have Treze and Selina story, at first I wasn't feeling it and wondered how this was going to work. I eventually started to get a little more involved into their story, but it seems short and unfinished. I look forward to Treze's brother Iam story more. Maybe in the future Treze's story can be improved but right now it sorta sucks.

As for Xcor and Layla, I was looking forward to their story but this book only brings up their story more towards the end. JR Ward has made me anticipate what will be next and how on green earth can that fubar be fixed.

In the end though I still have lots of questions. What has happened to the Virgin Scribe? Are the Dogen vampires or some other breed? Where do they come from? Same with the Sempath and the Shadows. Did I miss how they came about somewhere in the story. What is going on with John Matthew and his seizures? Is the Omega getting weaker since Butch has been dispatching his lesser? How is Quinn's brother doing? Is there going to be a story for Murder? Forgive my spelling of names, spell check doesn't know them. I will defiently be reading the next book. Narrator is great as usuall.

Shelly Laurenston turns up the heat with two sizzling novellas. Christmas Pride: How come all the good-looking ones are insane? That's what runs through NYPD cop Desiree "Dez" MacDermot's mind the minute she hooks up again with her childhood buddy, Mace Llewellyn. Shaw's Tail: Brendon Shaw, hotel owner and lion shifter, has seen better days. He's been beaten, had a gun to the back of his head, and had to be rescued by a Pack of shape-shifting wolves.

    Story

Christmas Pride. I enjoyed this story it was funny, hot and left me wanting more. Mace did have a total caveman mentality but you have to love him for knowing what he wanted and he wasn't taking no for an answer. Several times I caught myself laughing at the antics in the story and it made for a fast work day. There was lots of sex, which was hot but a warning that there was a lot of crude talking and swearing. I have been looking for a new shifter story that I liked and I think I have found a new one to continue on with. I enjoyed the narrator even if she butchered some of the accents. 6 hrs 39 mins.

Shaw's Tail. Another good addition to the Pride series. Funny and sexy with characters you can love. Author is very casual about sex so there is lots, so this is not for the faint of heart. Both books introduce us to new characters for future books and I look forward to reading their stories. Overall both stories are just romances and I would have liked to have had more action, but they are stories I can sink my teeth into. 5 hrs 34 mins.

This is the extraordinary story of John Carter, who returns to the Red Planet in search of his beloved, Dejah Thoris. John lands in the Valley Dor, which is populated by vicious plant men, and discovers the Lost Sea of Korus, guarded by the great white apes and horrifying lions of Barsoom. It is here that he finds the princess Thuvia, who is a captive of the Holy Therns, high priests who eat only human flesh slain by their plant men.

As the second book of Barsoom this book is equally as good as the first. The best part was when John Carter finally discovers his son. I was a little confused with his sons age. He seemed older than 10, but I think I must have missed something with in the book. There is lots of action and fighting and it keeps the story at a fast clip. The narrator was okay and is the same as the first version I read. My only complaint is his women's voices aren't very good. I recommend buying the Kindle version for free and then downloading this book for 99 cents. This how I got the 2nd and 3rd book in the Barsoom series. For a buck it was worth it.

There is also a blurb for the next book in this series at the end of this one. Narrator did a good job.

Enjoyable witch mystery with great character development. Although I think it's funny how every time Lilly turns around there is a new and good looking guy hanging around. Max is still her main squeeze, but if that falls apart look out. Lilly is a great character with a big heart with naïve that is enchanting. Recommend reading in order to benefit from the full story. I will be continue on with the next book. I like the narrator but sometimes she is a little slow with the reading and you don't get the full effect of the action parts.
