Daisy Minor is bored. Worse than that, she's boring. A plain, small-town librarian, she's got a wardrobe as sexy as a dictionary and hasn't been on a date in years. She's never even had a lukewarm love affair, let alone a hot one. So when she wakes up on her 34th birthday and wonders how it is that she still lives with her widowed mom and spinster aunt while her friends have all gotten married and started families, she decides it's time to get a life - and a sex life.

This book was the first book I read by Linda Howard and have since read almost everything that she has writen, I was glad to see it on Audible. This is a fun, and simple romance. One of her first where she was trying for a little suspense but didn't quite hit the mark. But fun in the romance section and defiently worth the listen. More favorites by Linda Howard are Mr. Perfect, Now you See Her, and Cover of Night.

Nikolai Wroth, once a ruthless human warlord in the 1700s and now a general in the rebel vampire army, needs to find his bride, the one woman who can render him truly alive. As a turned human, he doesn’t enjoy a heartbeat or breathing and is consequently weaker than fully blooded vampires. He wants his bride for the power she will bring him and can hardly believe it when his heart beats for Myst the Coveted, a mad, fey, mythological creature. Myst is known throughout the world as the most beautiful Valkyrie, part chillingly fierce warrior, part beguiling seductress....

I'm glad I didn't start with this book. It was defiantly not as good as the other books in this series, I recommend starting with A Hunger Like No Other. I like Kaderin/Sebastian's and Maraketa/Bowen's stories the best. This book did have some questionable sex scenes that was on the verge of rape that was a turn off for me, but Myst loved it so I guess to each her own. I didn't think the narrators where that bad, but I think they should have just stuck with the male voice. I am not a fan of duel narration.

Once Olympia Wingfield had been free to devote all her time to her true passion: the study of ancient legends and long-lost treasure. But now, with three hellion nephews to raise, the absentminded beauty has very little time for research. Which makes it seem all the more serendipitous when a handsome stranger strides into Olympia’s library unannounced and proceeds to set her world to rights.

I have enjoyed Amanda Quick older books in the past and every once in a while I like to read them again. I will admit that all of the older Amanda Quick's books are very similar. There is a headstrong heroine, a dashing hero, and an ancient mystery to uncover with villains in the back ground. Of course what's not to love about that. Narrator was only just ok, she is very breathy and with her accent it makes her harder to understand.

This book was so good. Hot, funny, sweet and sour. I loved both Sabine and Rydstrom's characters, there was so much depth to them. I like the fact that they were not perfect. Kresley Cole sure knows how to turn them out. To date I have gobbled up her books and I cannot wait for more. Defiantly read in order. Each book is an adventure full of lore, romance, action, and great characters. And the cherry on top is the sexy narrator. If you like this book I recommend Sherrilyn Kenyon, Larissa Ione, Thea Harrison and Gena Showalter.

So I watched the movie first and loved it. I decided why should I be the only one to read this book, so I suggested it for book club. It is a great book, and there was a lot of thought producing scenarios that was perfect for book club discussions. My 10 year old son listened to with me and we had a good time together, although there was some parts that were a little difficult for him to understand. It did get a little bogged down with all the religion at the first of the book, once you get to the ship wreck it is one heck of a ride. Narrator has a nice Indian accent that is understandable and fits the character well.

RITA Award-winning author Kresley Cole continues her bestselling Immortals After Dark series with this electrifying tale of a ruthless demon mercenary and the lovely young halfling who enchants him. A seductive beauty he can never have, yet can't resist.... Cadeon Woede will stop at nothing to atone for the one wrong that will haunt him forever. But once he secures the key to his redemption, the halfling Holly Ashwin, Cade finds that the woman he thought he could use for his own ends and then forget haunts him as much as his past.

Not my favorite in the series, but still a great addition. A road trip full of the lore, my kind of book. I liked both the characters really well. The one thing that made this story a four star instead of a five star was all the lying that Cade did. I understand why he did it, I only know that I didn't like how he went about it. I really liked the OCD part and all the back and forth going on between Holly and Cade. Kresley Cole has become an automatic download for me. Narrator is awesome.

Agent Franks of the U.S. Monster Control Bureau is a man of many parts - parts from other people, that is. Franks is nearly seven feet tall and all muscle. He's nearly indestructible. Plus he’s animated by a powerful alchemical substance and inhabited by a super-intelligent spirit more ancient than humanity itself. Good thing he’s on our side. More or less.

Another ball right out of the park. The story does take a bit to get out of the explaining mode and into the action. Once it starts there is no stopping Franks. Not much of MHI in this story as it focuses on MCB more. I'm a huge fan of Franks - badass extraordinaire. Franks has been around for a long time but he still has things to learn. I listened to the first book again recently and I wish I had with the entire series so that I could refresh my memory on events and characters. Defiantly a series to read in order. This book also revisits some of the other characters from previous books that I liked, especially loved the gangsta gnomes. The narrator does an awesome job and I can't imagine this series without him.

John Carter is still trying to get his woman back. Most of this book he is chasing down the bad guys trying to save her. It starts to get old how many times she is kidnapped. Anyway if you liked the first two books, you will like this one. This is my stopping point with the series only because it is a mediocre series to me. I only read this far because if you get the free kindle version, book 2 & 3 are only .99 each. Narrator has a nice southern voice, but the names in the story start to sound the same and is slightly confusing.

I'm so loving this series. So far book 2 & 3 are my favorites. This one was great too just not my favorite. I'm excited to listen to the rest of the series and thankful that so many have already been written and is on audible. Narrator rocks and is so sexy he could make a bad book good, thankfully this series is awesome. If you like these books I recommend authors such as Sherrilyn Kenyon, JR Ward, Gena Showalter, Thea Harrison, and Larrisa Ione.

5 stars. House of the Rising Sun. This is the story of Aricles and Bathymaa's how they fell in love and was betrayed. I read this after Styxx so I was familiar with the story, but it can be read before or after. But truthfully I was glad I read Styxx first. This is a must read if you loved Styxx. 3 hrs 14 mins.

5 stars. Phantom Lover. V'Aidan and Erin's story. This short story supposedly falls after Night Embrace and before Dance with the Devil. Possibly the intro into the dream hunter world. I personally don't remember these characters in any of the other books, if they are in any. 2 hrs 31 mins.

5 stars. Winter Born. Falls after Night Play and before Seize the Night. A short sexy story, although no romance, but defiantly hot. This Dante and Pandora show up from time to time in future books, or least Dante does. I love the Simi pop-ups. 2 hrs 12 mins.

4 stars. A Dark Hunter Christmas. This story also falls after Night Embrace and before Dance with the Devil. Simi makes this story, without her this would be meh. 38 mins.

3 stars. Until Death We Do Part. Now we know where the real Dracula came from. A Dark Hunter short that can be read anytime in the series. This book is not connected to any of the other stories. I didn't like the heroine in this story, otherwise I would give it a higher rating. 2 hrs 27 mins.

5 stars. A Hard Day's Night Searcher. This story falls after Dark Side of the Moon before Dream Hunter. Bad boy pirate Rafael and goody two shoe Selena meet there matched. A fun very short story. 1 hr 25 mins.

2.5 stars. Shadow of the Moon. This story falls after Acheron but before One Silent Night. Fury and Angelia story. As much as I like Fury, I don't like Angelia. I think Fury deserved better than her. 2 hrs 47 mins.

2 stars. Fear the Darkness. After Dream Hunter but before Devil may cry. I love Nick but I don't think this story was very good. Too much anger to make a good short story. 40 mins

4 stars. Where Angels Fear to Tread. Also after Acheron but before One silent night. Zeke beginning as a Hell Chaser. You can read more about Zeke in Bad Moon Rising. 27 mins.

4 stars. Love Bytes. Not a Dark Hunter story. A sweet Christmas love story at the office. 2 hrs 2 mins.

3 stars. Santa Wears Spurs. This is a western romance not a Dark Hunter story. I wasn't a huge fan of the characters in this book, but it was Sherrilyn writing and she almost never goes wrong. 1 hr 44 mins.

4 stars. Redemption. Seth and Lydia's wedding, characters from The Guardian. 21 mins.

Written by Naoki Higashida, a very smart, very self-aware, and very charming thirteen-year-old boy with autism, The Reason I Jumpis a one-of-a-kind memoir that demonstrates how an autistic mind thinks, feels, perceives, and responds in ways few of us can imagine. Parents and family members who never thought they could get inside the head of their autistic loved one at last have a way to break through to the curious, subtle, and complex life within.

Very insightful into the Autism mind. I personally don't know anybody with autism but I do have a nephew with a cognitive disorder so I like to read different books about special needs so I can understand better. The question "why don't you look me in the eyes when I talk to you" and the answer that they are using their whole body to listen so much that their eyes go out of focus, really puts a different perspective on how I view there communication skills. This is a must read for anybody that knows an autistic person it will help your understanding of them.
