"Calamity Miranda"
Molly Harper does it again. This was a cute and humorous story about a disaster of a girl driving around a Vamp with a mentality of a 300-year-old maiden aunt. I had a silly grin on my face most of the day and my co workers thought I was nuts. Short and sweet, I would have liked it to have been longer.
"It is what it is."
A somewhat spoiler alert-
I have enjoyed Sookie's books immensely, I will admit the last few have been lagging and I believe that an end to the series is good thing. This book was good, but not Charlaine Harris's best. I will admit I'm a huge fan of Eric but I am not surprised in the way this book ended. Sookie has always wanted kids, and has professed to not wanting to be a vampire. At the end I was ready to strangle Eric, so not a huge disappointment from my end how that ended. Plus from the beginning there has been tension between Sam and Sookie, in fact in the first book I was rooting for Sam and not Bill (whom I have always disliked for his passive aggressiveness.) I miss having Bubba in the book. Of course there is always True Blood to look forward to, where the only thing sparkly is Lafayette.
"Samson and Delilah."
I enjoyed this book very much although there was not a lot of plot, a slight mystery but more romance. It was a fast paced and easy listen. I was disappointed to find out this was the only book Audible has in this series that is recorded. After looking up the authors web page I discovered there are more books in this series, at least 6 more, hopefully they will come out on audio soon. Warning some of the sex is taboo so, if you don't like that kind a thing steer away from this book. Narrator was good, easy to listen to.
"Go ahead, bite."
If you are reading this review then you have probably already read the previous ones, and at this point you know they are good. Narrator is spot on for characters. Funny and fast paced. Read in order and don't forget the naked werewolf stories also by Molly Harper. I also enjoyed her other vamp books in Half Moon Hollow.
"Little Red."
There were lots of reviewers who didn't like the fact that Scarlett was the main focus of this book and didn't have Cinder as the main focus. I enjoyed this book even more than the first and can't wait for the next, Scarlett was a great addition. It is a young adult book and I tend towards the naughty adults stuff but I think all can enjoy this book. It has fantasy, sci-fi, romance and political war. I enjoyed the narrator, and I really enjoyed it when she did Scarlett's voice with the slight accent. I defiantly will be getting the next one, hopefully it won’t take too long to come out.
"Not your usual poison."
A great start to a new series, the time flew by while listening. In a way this audio reminds of The Hunger Games but darker. The story is different but it has the same feel. It is a fantasy world loosely based the Dark Ages with magic. There is only a small amount of romance so not sure why it is harlequin, but it is defiantly not a teenage book because it has some references to rape. I will be buying the remaining books in the series and if they work out I will be buying the rest of the books from this author. Great narration.
"So So."
3.5 overall. Slow to start off. I am not as big of fan of the narrator as other reviewers. He was okay, but I don't think he was as wonderful as everybody was saying. His accents were okay, but when he just read in his normal voice he was a little dry. I will admit that I sometimes dread the beginning of books because they have to build up the story, and sometimes it takes a while. This one took about half a book. I ended up listening to a short story in between because I wasn't as excited to get back to the book as a good book would make me. And once it started to pick up it went into super drive. Of course that doesn't mean it was good. It was an okay book with monsters that have been done before. Too many characters to have any connection with any of them and it took forever to introduce them, although they were likable. It was probably worth a BOGO free sale (which lucky that’s how I got it), but I wouldn't use a whole credit. Try Monster Hunter International by Larry Correia, it rocks.
"Typical Sandra Brown."
This was a typical Sandra Brown book, if you are a fan you will like it. Although far from my favorite by Sandra Brown, I did like it but thought that it had random sex acts scattered throughout that left the book a little raunchy. The law was loosely followed in this story, so abandon all realism for this story and the since it was written in 1992 it is dated. I had my suspicions about what actually happened and in the end I was right. Books by Sandra Brown that I liked better were Envy and The Switch. Joseph Finder is a good author if you are looking for thriller/mystery type of book. Mary Higgins Clark is similar to Sandra Brown but without so much sex involved.
"Highlanders fans will swoon."
I only have great things to say about this audiobook. Hot romance, sexy highlanders, evil nemesis, and feel good atmosphere. The side characters are great and the story leading to the next in the series makes me want to read them soon. I loved how Ewan thought that he could tell her how to mend her ways, knowing he was in for a big surprise. The story flew by so fast I was shocked when the story ended. Narrator was great, and for all those fans of highlanders books this is a must read.
"If you have made it this far… but…"
Due to the fact that it took me so long to listen between reading this book and the last in this series, I was confused a bit. Especially since this series is mediocre at best. I really liked the Psy/Changeling series that this author wrote but this series is a disappointment and since this series was on sale I bought the first four books by author recommendation. I will probably continue reading only the four I bought only because it's not a terrible story. But If you have made it this far and like the others, then this book is as good as the first two. I think I would have liked it better if there was a new point of view from each book. Narrator has a shaky voice and is a little distracting.
"Series is getting better."
Although this is no Troubleshooters it is pretty good. By the description I wasn't sure I was going to like it as much as the others and the fact that the hero's wife died in the last book made me a little leery to read this. In fact it is the best one yet in this series. This series is more dated since it was written in 1990's and there has been such a surge of technological advances since. Narrator was pretty good nothing spectacular though.
