"Cute and Funny."
This book had the opportunity to have much funnier scenes in it, but was still good and I had a couple of good chuckles. This was the first book of Susan Mallery I have read, it was good that I will be checking out more from her.
"Some strays are worth picking up."
This one is more like #5 to the Nice Girls series, but with a new person as the main character. Of course it was funny, Molly Harper wrote it. The narration was spot on. It probably can be read separately but I don't recommend it because a lot of the background information would be lost. I will be reading all of the half moon hollow books that Molly Harper can put out.
"Pride and Prejudice."
I love, love, love this book. I have read it once, listened to it twice and have watched every version of video there is of it. BBC version with Colin Firth is the best. It just warms the heart. I love the characters, the conflict, and the misunderstanding. All of Jane Austin books are good, but this one is the best. If you haven't read Austen's work yet start with this one. Thanks Audible for giving it away for free on valentines.
"Highland lass to the rescue."
Not as good as the first book, but I enjoyed it. The narrator does a great job and I am excited for the next book. The heroine in this book was feisty but it seemed like she didn't stick up for herself very much when it counted. Of course all the other characters respected her for that, but It made me feel that her character was lacking slightly. But that was a slight annoyance overall a good addition to the series, but it needs to be read in order.
"Unsung hero, not who you think it is."
I have listened to the whole series and I love it. This is the first book and it is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. This book also has a double story in that it flashbacks to WWII. This happens for the first 5 books after that it doesn't have the flashbacks anymore. The series has arching with the different stories for the characters, so it is a must read in order to enjoy the full affect. Since I didn't have the first one on audio, I bought this with the 4.95 sale and decided to reread the entire series. Which I rarely do since I have a gazillion books in my library unread.
"Why is there only two out? I want more."
I don't know what it was about this series, but I really liked it. I read both books in the series back to back, which I don't usually do. Which goes to show how much I liked it. The characters are great, the sex was hot, there was humor and tenderness. I tend to like series better that have a new main character for each book rather than one where the series has the same heroine throughout. Which this one has. I'm probably going to be impatient for the next one to be released. If you like Nalini Singh's stuff this is a great series to start.
"Watch your fingers, its hot."
Man did this book fly by fast. Which usually means it is awesome. Funny and loveable characters. I already downloaded the next book, especially since it was just over $7. Narrator was good, except the voice she had for the girl during the sex scene was a little bizarre and not sexy. My only problem is there are only two out on audible right now and I will have to wait for the author to write more. If you love the paranormal romance stuff get this book, it is worth your money and time.
"Sweet addition."
Another good addition to the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series. It does get better with each book. A sweet romance, very little mystery. Defiantly read the series in order due to the fact the characters intertwine in the books. Read Troubleshooters series, they will suck you in and you will become obsessed with finishing them.
"Blood Fever, or luke warm."
An okay start to a series, but I still have my feelers out to see if it a keeper for the whole series. A friend at work suggested it to me, she loved it. I thought it was not a bad start but I'm not sure quite yet. I will read the next one and see how it goes, hopefully there will be a sale. Story line has potential although I didn't feel overly connected to the characters and they did stupid things that annoyed me. Spoilers ahead --- Ok first off, how dumb can a woman be when she believes a man when they say "I can't make you pregnant and I'm disease free" when they barely know each other. You and I know he can't but why does she believe when she thinks he is a human… dumb, dumb, dumb. Second off, I don't understand the whole cutting herself, and then making it seem like it is natural because she is a breed mate. It may be only me but that is messed up and was not necessary to enhance the storyline, especially since that seemed to be the only way she was able to get him, not cool. And I have a hard time with her being taken away from her life and she is okay with it, and basically grovels to Lucan, even after she finds out he had broken into her house at the beginning and molested her when she wasn't aware of it being real. Narrator was fine overall, but her Spanish accent sucked.
"Don't quit your day job. This might happen."
Funny and Quirky, one catastrophe after another. I have listened to all the books by this series except the last one, because the last couple books sucked big time. But the first 15 are awesome. The narrator is okay and I luckily have the ability to ignore the narrator if I have to in order to enjoy the book. The later books are read by Lorelei King who does an awesome job.
"Thrill ride on its own."
This book is way more detailed than the movie. I know lots of people didn't like the movie, unfortunately I have a love for B rated monster movies so I like the movie. I like the book even better. I have worked my way through book 4 in this series now and I enjoyed all of them. This book was written over 20 years which makes it somewhat dated. There is a sit on the edge of your seat feeling throughout. Don't listen to the abridged version it sucks. Reliquary is an extension of this book, it starts off exactly where this one left off. Another awesome book by this author is The Timex, it is sort of a Indiana Jones type book.
