I don't know who would enjoy this book after the first one. It was a fairly miserable sequel.
The performance wasn't that bad, the story was the problem.
Not really. Too silly on an ending, the characters got weak.
I wish I'd liked it.
I always feel like such a jerk giving a horrible review. The author put a lot of time and effort into the book as did the narrator. That being said, I am livid that I spent time listening to this book. It has to be one of the most horrible books ever written. The story was extremely predictable. The main character was devastatingly stupid, written as though she was a man's caricature of a woman. There was nothing that grabbed my attention. It was slow, dull and miserable.
I liked the performance the best. The narrator was absolutely amazing.
I don't really know. It was something of a thriller, a little predictable but still a really good story. Funny in places, touching in others.
Yes. It was really engaging and because of the narrator I felt like I was listening to a movie. Very good job.
Made me think.
The button boy story was absolutely phenomenal. A great story in an excellent story. I really enjoyed the whole book, some stories more than others but that one was my absolute favorite.
The narrator sounded like he had a cold or something. He had a bit of a whiny voice in some parts.
I would highly recommend this book. I liked the way that each story was so very different than the one before it. It was a truly good read.
This book is for perhaps middle school children who blame their parents for their mistakes. It was a pretty bad read. The story line was extremely predictable. Anyone who is surprised by any of the “twists” in this book has probably not finished elementary school as of yet. For anyone who is of an age that has two numbers in it this was a total snooze fest. For any working mothers do not, I repeat, do NOT get this book. It will piss you off to no end. The only thing that I got out of this book is that Kimberly McCreight thinks that working mothers are the scum of the earth who don’t properly care for their children.
Not really. I wish I'd read it insted of listening to it. The narrators were horrible. The voices were annoying and the back and forth when different people were talking was tedious.
Donald was bland and blah. There was also a weird clicking noise going on there.
No. I'm so over it.
Who compared this to Gone Girl and were they smoking crack when they did it?
I listened to and read books 1-3, just read book 4 and am trying to listen to and read book 5. There is NO way that I am listening to the rest of this book. The voices are off, the names are not even pronounced the same way as before. This is miserable.
All of the memories of listening to it suck.
The narrator changed the way things are pronounced, the voices used, everything. It is not worth listening to.
Redo this narration.
The book is very interesting. I really enjoyed it.
There is a lot of action and the story is fascinating. There is a lot of character development and each person has a distinct voice.
There are far too many errors with the reading, things being read twice, things like that. Very distracting and frustrating.
Having not read the print version I don't know.
I would try another one, the story was entertaining.
The bomb scene
When is a secret best left a secret?
I enjoyed this story. As I said it was a little predictable but I enjoyed it. I liked the scenes moving between the mother and daughters lives and the way that the sisters interacted. It was very well read with distinguishable characters.
This is one of the best books I've listened to in quite a while.
The author. She made it very clear her devotion to the truthfulness of the story. I love that she became a character in her own story.
It sounded like there were many other performers. They did a great job narrating.
I don't want to give any spoilers but the autopsy was rough for me.
I'd highly recommend this book. It was captivating.
