Larry McMurtry's American epic, set in the late 19th century, tells the story of a cattle drive from Texas to Montana, a drive that represents not only a daring foolhardy adventure, but a part of the American Dream for everyone involved.

Richard Delman says: "A masterpiece. An epic western story."
    "OUTSTANDING"
    Overall

I've been with Audible about 2 years now and have listened to many books, and this has been my favorite so far. The narration is exemplary and the story is very engaging. I have read the novel and must say that listening to it brings the story to life and increasd my enjoyment of an already great book.

This fabulous account of Sir Ernest Shackelton's epic adventure recreates one of the most astonishing feats of exploration and human courage ever recorded. In August, 1914, the Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October, 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months Shackelton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world...

Timothy C S says: "A wonderfull treatment of a complex story"
    "What A Good Listen!"
    Overall

I would definitely recommend this audio book. The narrator is a little difficult to understand and the audio quality of the recording is a bit muffled (almost sounds like it was recorded in a restroom) however you get used to it quickly. However, the story itself makes up for these minor quibbles. And what a story it is. It is an incredible account of survival and endurance. Talk about beating overwhelming odds!

Highly recommended. I probably enjoyed this one second out of the audio books I have listened to. First I would say is Lonesome Dove.

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow. Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time. Crossroads of Twilight is book ten of Robert Jordan's best selling Wheel of Time series.

Robert Eric Koch says: "The Lowest Point of the Entire Series"
    "A real snoozer."
    Overall

Just when you think the action is going to start either Jordan switches story lines or nothing happens. The new prequel looks promising but this book is nowhere near the quality of the others. I listen on the bus to/from work and this one insures I get extra nap time each day!

Arguably the century's most challenging novel of ideas, The Fountainhead is the story of a gifted young architect, his violent battle with conventional standards, and his explosive love affair with the beautiful woman who struggles to defeat him. This unabridged recording of the classic features the voice of actor Christopher Hurt.

    Lisa says: "Amazing!"
    "Compelling Story, Outstanding Voice Acting"

    Highly recommended.
