Night after night Mike and Sam found their beds under bridges and on the streets. They were forced to depend on the generosity and kindness of strangers as they panhandled to sustain their existence. For more than five months, the pair experienced firsthand the extreme pains of hunger, the constant uncertainty and danger of living on the streets, exhaustion, depression, and social rejection-and all of this by their own choice.

    Overall

Absolutely fabulous! This author, with his experiences, takes the reader to the very landscape of a world few of us have ever even come close to imagining. The places he uncovered both in the physical and the spiritual world leave the reader with almost a challenge to seek the place out for real. He makes it easy, however, to experience without the dreadlocks and without the stained clothing or marred skin. This is truly a book for every person to experience. If you are able to purchase this book, you are already more blessed than the people (yes, people) the author has crossed paths with in this incredible reflection of "being there" - nowhere.

A definitive, deeply moving narrative, Bonhoeffer is a story of moral courage in the face of the monstrous evil that was Nazism. After discovering the fire of true faith in a Harlem church, Bonhoeffer returned to Germany and became one of the first to speak out against Hitler. As a double agent, he joined the plot to assassinate the Führer and was hanged in Flossenbürg concentration camp at age thirty-nine. Since his death, Bonhoeffer has grown to be one of the most fascinating, complex figures of the twentieth century.

    "A MUST-READ for ALL Americans!"
    Overall

I write few reviews, but I felt I had to comment on this book. It is one of the most eye-opening books I have ever heard! This story about a man's struggles with the loss of Germany to the Nazis could be just as easily a story about an American's loss of America...to who? Maybe from studying this man's values, we have a chance to get into the homestretch in the rescue of our Christian America!
It is slightly difficult to follow at the beginning as we learn a lot of background, but you must hang on. The book is monumentous in its content!

This heart-stirring tale of a young slave girl, torn between her love for a handsome aristocrat and her faith in God, transcends genres with its awe-inspiring power and emotional intensity.

"The Word beautifully blended in romantic fiction!"
    Overall

This is one of the most remarkable books I have ever "read". The author, in her unique way of teaching the Word, has woven a tapestry of real spiritual battle using the very blood of Jesus as the underlying thread. She has created characters set in ancient Rome which can easily be transferred into any life of any reader. Using these characters, she has demonstrated the realness of the spiritual battle we are each enthralled in today. My complete applause and gratitude for such a gift as this novel, given by one of our most talented authors today!
