Some people might call Avery Babineaux a prick. He's a hedgehog shifter from an old-money Louisiana family, with a penchant for expensive shoes and a reputation for being a judgmental snob. His attitude is why he and his fated mate are estranged. Not that Avery cares. He doesn't want to be mated to some blue-collar werewolf anyway. Or so he keeps telling himself.

What did you love best about Prickly Business?

I loved how Avery and Dylan grew and learned to appreciate each other, sometimes in spite of their differences, and sometimes because of those differences.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Prickly Business?

I loved when Dylan saved Avery from the jerks who were hunting him in the woods. Even though they weren't together yet, Dylan, in wolf form, wrapped himself around the hedgehog and waited for Avery to feel comfortable enough to shift. Their bond was lovely.

What does Iggy Toma bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Iggy Toma is amazing! He gave each character a distinctive voice that showed both their background and attitude. I especially loved the way he brought Avery to life for me.

If you could rename Prickly Business, what would you call it?

    Reluctant Mates

    Any additional comments?

This is a wonderful story performed by a fantastic narrator. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good reluctant mates story.

After 19-year-old Jenny Monroe is caught stealing from the home of a powerful politician, she is sent to a special prison in deep space to be trained for her future role as an alien's bride. Despite the public bare-bottom spanking she receives upon her arrival at the detention center, Jenny remains defiant, and, before long, she earns herself a trip to the notorious medical wing of the facility. Once there, Jenny quickly discovers that a sore bottom will now be the least of her worries.

This is not my usual genre, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. The characters were interesting, and the story line was as well. The sex scenes were a bit repetitive but not bad, with daddy kink, BDSM, and medical play. My favorite part of the story was actually when the doctors and Jenny left to help the injured after an attack by another alien race. The performance by the narrator was very good and worked well with this story.
I haven't read/listened to any other book from this series, but this worked well as a standalone.

With soothing music playing in the background, Professor Norman Rumble clasps his hand over his mouth and looks wide-eyed down at his creation glaring back at him. Mystified, there is only one question on his lips.... Why? There are only two people in the world who know the answer to that... and they’re fishing. Hold on tight as these three hilarious British comedy adventures transport you to Cambodia, and find out what mayhem English lads can cause when fumbling through Southeast Asia.

This isn't just a book, it's an adventure! The characters are irreverent, politically incorrect in every way, and in some cases, basically insane. They're also hilarious and end up in ridiculous situations. If you don't mind idiotic but mostly likeable men, topless women, body odor, farting, and other potentially offensive things; and you love old school British comedy and slapstick humor, mixed in with serious topics like murder and betrayal (at times it felt as if separate books had been shuffled together, giving a heartbreaking chapter followed by crazy humor), I can recommend this long and winding tome. It's really quite impressive, and the narration is fantastic.

Jude: Reaching the top of the country music charts brings out the crazy, and there's no one crazier than my ex. Unfortunately, his threats to out me are escalating. Enter the bodyguard of my dreams. I'd probably chafe under his constant presence if his attention to my body wasn't so...ah...thorough. Now I have to worry about outing myself to millions of fans if I can't keep my hands off him in public.

This is a great story, and Jude and Derek are terrific characters. I enjoyed the narration, though I wasn't sure why California boy turned country music superstar Jude sounded southern. This isn't my favorite of the series, but I do still love it. This author always gives me a couple who make me want to hug them, and this was no exception. This is a great addition to the Made Marian series.

Twelve Marian men-a-mating... I mean, a-meeting. Eleven blind dates-a-blinding. Ten lords-a-leaping (to conclusions...). Nine ladies dancing (okay, maybe that's Griff). Eight kids-a-complaining. Seven changes-a-clothing. Six love junk gadgets. Five dra-aag queens. Four calling neighbors. Three nosy grannies. Two men falling in love. And a partridge in a pear tree.

Spending time with the Marian couples and the trio of old ladies I've already come to love was great, and meeting Noah and Luke was amazing. This story made me laugh, cry, and want to buy some Love Junk. Noah is now one of my favorite characters ever, and Luke is his perfect match. The narration was excellent, as usual. Wonderful wonderful story!

A therapist once told Martin Stevens that being gay was the only thing that saved him from being the most boring man alive. He spends his daytime working a dead-end job and his nights still pining after the ex-fiance who left him five years ago. This is a sweet story. Martin doesn't see what a great guy he really is, so his brother Daniel takes it upon himself to give Martin an unwanted makeover and takes him to see the hit play that is currently in town. Actor Alec literally falls into Martin's arms and is instantly smitten. I love Alec so much! He sees the man Martin is under all the fear and insecurity, and he is willing to what it takes to win him over. The local shock jock is a bully from Martin's past, and he decides to harass the new couple for ratings. Can Martin handle the attention and cruelty, or would he be better off remaining alone and out of the spotlight that follows Alec?
The story is great, as is the narrator's performance. The author packed an engrossing story into a short read/listen. I love it!

This is a great opposites attract romance. Natalie is from a rich family, and while she enjoys some of the things that life has provided, she begins to feel more and more unhappy and longs for a change. She applies for a job as a farm hand, which is the opposite of everything she's known before.
Jess is the owner of the farm where Natalie comes to learn a new way of life. She is blunt and sometimes grouchy, and she's both attracted to and doubtful of the city girl who thinks she can make it doing manual labor.
Both women have pain in their pasts to overcome, and they begin to feel like they might be able to help each other. They begin to feel like more than employee and boss. Can they get past their doubts to find happiness?
I loved this story, and the narration was excellent. I will look for more books from this author and more from this narrator.

At 23, Poe Montgomery is going nowhere. He still lives in his father’s basement and spends most of his time tagging with his friends. When an arrest lands him in debt, Poe accepts the front desk job at Permanent Ink, the tattoo shop owned by his father’s best friend, Jericho McAslan. Jericho is nearly twice Poe’s age, but with his ink and prematurely graying hair, he quickly takes the starring role in Poe’s hottest fantasies.

I loved this story. Poe and Jericho had an unusual relationship, since Jericho was Poe's boss and also his father's best friend. There were moments that I felt that Poe was acting too immature or that Jericho was acting too fatherly, but the characters felt this way themselves and corrected their attitudes. The daddy kink was fun, and the information about tagging and tattooing were fascinating to me. I wanted to slap Poe's friend Blue then hug him. I really liked Poe and Jericho, and the authors made sure I understood them. I felt that the major secondary characters were well also well developed. I hope to see book 2 sometime soon!
The narrator's performance was excellent. I've listened to him before and will happily do so again.

I love this story! Every character is a bit crazy but lovable. Cal seems very self-absorbed at the beginning, but he becomes my favorite person. Dewey is stuffy and uptight, but he somehow manages to let himself get pulled into crazy situations. All the members of the playhouse are odd and pushy but funny. And Mac is like no ghost I've ever found in a book before - he is one of a kind.
This is an engrossing story with great characters, and it held my interest from the first chapter. The narration was very well done, and the different characters had distinct voices.
I'm so happy I got to experience this book!

It started with an anonymous post by someone who didn't want to live anymore. I read it over and over again, unable to get it out of my mind. What if my brother Johnny had posted something like this before he'd taken his own life? Would someone have been able to save him? I've been living a lie for 16 long years, and I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep it up. And when a beautiful, broken man walks into my tattoo shop asking for a second chance at life, I know I'll never be able to turn him away.

Where does From Ashes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's definitely one I'll listen to again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nox was my favorite character. He pulled himself out of a horrible situation and, with Adam's love and assistance, created a happy life.

Have you listened to any of Kenneth Obi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have, and I believe that he improves with every new book he performs. I enjoy listening to him.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed and teared up, and I also felt seriously stressed at the stalker situation. I was also stressed by everyone else finding out about Adam and Nox's relationship before Gage did. As Adam's best friend, he shouldn't have been left out, even though I understood why Adam was nervous about telling him.

    Any additional comments?

I love everyone connected to Heathens Ink. Great book, great series!
