In Shane Scully's most terrifying case to date, two elite SWAT units from the L.A. Sheriff's Department and the ATF appear to be engaged in a deadly midnight war. Officers from both agencies are being sniped at and murdered in vertical coffins. As the violence escalates, the mayor directs the LAPD, the only uninvolved and unbiased law enforcement agency, to investigate. Shane's wife, Alexa, under orders from Chief Tony Filosiani, assigns him to the case.

This is my second download from audible, first being Paranoia by Joseph Finder. The reader reviews helped me pick another winner. Great story with a strong suspenseful ending! The author did a very nice job at slowing disclosing the riddle without exposing the villain until the end. Didn't want to stop listening and once again Scott Brick did a great narration.

I actually picked this audio book based partially on the narrator. Scott did a superb reading with Paranoia by Joseph Finder and did a nice job with Vertical Coffin. If you are remotely interested in SWAT or police investigations you will thoroughly enjoy this book.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

A must "listen," even if you aren't a sci-fi buff. Orson Scott Card really draws you in to feel every emotion of the main character, Ender, on his rollercoaster ride to save the planet. Filled with plenty of action and unknown plot twists dying to be revealed, this book made me not want to press the stop button on my i-paq until the story was over.

Adam Cassidy is twenty-six and a low level employee at a high-tech corporation who hates his job. When he manipulates the system to do something nice for a friend, he finds himself charged with a crime. Corporate Security gives him a choice: prison or become a spy in the headquarters of their chief competitor, Trion Systems.

I planned on reading this over two weeks during my commute to work but finished it in just a few days. Outstanding writing and Scott Brick did a great job narrating. This is my first book from audible.com and I highly recommend it. If you work at the Motorola's, GE's, Microsoft's, or other high-tech businesses you can easily see something like this happening in your backyard.
