Matilda Geoffrey risked it all for love. She left Australia to be with Barry - the man who had swept her off her virtual feet. Now, wearing a wedding dress, she's alone on Main Street in small-town Wisconsin, and things aren't working out exactly as planned.… In town for his annual family visit, Marc Olsen had never seen a bride quite like Matilda - staring into a storefront window, holding a tottering wedding cake, and looking desperately in need of a groom. He may not have any warm feelings for his hometown, but meeting Matilda just as she discovers she's been scammed by her online "fiancé" stirs something in him.

What made the experience of listening to Boomerang Bride the most enjoyable?

A fun and sometimes very funny romance tha gave me the kind of escapism I was looking for.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Couldn't pick just one. Several make me smile even now as I think about them.

    Any additional comments?

I've been trying to branch out and try some authors I'm not familiar with. This is one where I can say I have found an author I will look for again.

What Jack needs is an excuse to leave town. Ever since rescuing four teenagers from a car wreck, he's been hailed as a hero and the attention is making him itchy, especially since his too-pretty ex-wife is back, angling for a reunion. He's always liked Emmaline. She needs a weekend date? No problem. So when they wind up in bed together, Em chalks it up to red wine and chocolate cake, just one impulsive night not to be repeated. But Jack's pushing for more.

I laughed aloud during parts of this book it was such great fun. Yet the author was able to bring a few tears as some of the more difficult things Jack and Emmaline were each dealing with were brought to a satisfactory close. Any one who has ever struggled with a stutter or worked hard to lose a lot of weight will find some parts of the book especially fun.

Listened to this one straight through on a snowy day and plan to listen to it again soon! Definitely credit worthy.

Sir Richard Kenworthy has less than a month to find a bride. He knows he can't be too picky, but when he sees Iris Smythe-Smith hiding behind her cello at her family's infamous musicale, he thinks he might have struck gold. She's the type of girl you don't notice until the second - or third - look, but there's something about her, something simmering under the surface, and he knows she's the one.

Scotland Yard’s new chief inspector Nicholas Drummond is on the first flight to New York when he learns his colleague, Elaine York, the "minder" of the Crown Jewels for the "Jewel of the Lion" exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, was found murdered. Then the centerpiece of the exhibit, the infamous Koh-i-Noor Diamond, is stolen from the Queen Mother’s crown. Drummond, American-born but raised in the UK, is a dark, dangerous, fast-rising star in the Yard who never backs down. And this case is no exception.

Would you listen to The Final Cut again? Why?

I hadn't planned to write a review on this book until I saw all the reviews that listed it as being boring. They couldn't be more wrong. This book would have made a wonderful movie. It's action-packed, filled with interesting characters a detailed story line and thoroughly fascinating. The narrators add to this. I hadn't read Coulter before. But I have read Clancy. I find the action in this book worthy of a Clancy novel or James Bond thriller. Well worth the credit and time. I have already listened three time in less than a month.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Final Cut?

The set up of the theft and description of the action surrounding it was so well done I started to see the whole thing as a movie in my head.

What about Renee Raudman and MacLeod Andrews ’s performance did you like?

They both did a great job with nuanced accents to set each character. They did such a good job I had no trouble seeing the action in my head.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Very much so.

    Any additional comments?

If you picked this looking for a traditional romantic thriller I can see why you would be disappointed. This is more of an action suspense piece with romantic hints in a new relationship around which this new series will evolve. As for boring, I can only shake my head in wonder at how far off the mark I view that statement.

All his life, Rand T’Ash has looked forward to meeting his HeartMate, with whom he could begin a family. Once a street tough, now a respected nobleman and artisan, he has crafted the perfect HeartGift, which, in the custom of the psychically gifted population of the planet Celta, is the way a man finds—and attracts—his wife… Danith Mallow is irresistibly drawn to the magnificent necklace on display in T’Ash’s shop, but she is wary of its creator, despite an overpowering attraction. In a world where everyone is defined by their psychic ability, Danith has little, placing her at the opposite end of the social spectrum from T’Ash. But T’Ash refuses to accept her rejection and sees it as a challenge instead. They are HeartMates, but can T’Ash persuade his beloved to accept her destiny by his side?

This is the opening book to one of my favorite romance series of all time. I've been urging Audible to get this in it's library and they did it! In this book, Owens first introduces us to the wonderful world of Celta. She is masterful in creating a society with its own religion, method of time keeping and such. Yet you easily follow her as she immerses you in the story of Danith and T'Ash. It is romance of the first order set in a fantasy location. The narrator wasn't my absolute favorite but does do a fine job of helping you keep all the characters straight. Well worth a credit!

Even the bright California sun can't whitewash the dark side of celebrity coupledom. Greedy music execs, merciless paparazzi, and Jake's wild past are lurking around every corner. Making matters worse, Jake announces he doesn't want kids, which just may be a deal breaker. Tru loves Jake more than anything. But when a devastating crisis threatens to destroy everything they've fought for, the couple must face the hard truth: What if, this time, love is not enough?

Every issue that I had with the first book in the series, disappears in this one. Jake and Tru are two of the most memorable characters I've read about in the last several years. You will laugh and cry and sigh with satisfaction when the book ends; then want to do it all over again. This will definitely be on my repeat listen list, in the future. ST's writing is impressive and Eyre brings the characters to life in a way that moves it beyond just reading into the realm of true performance. She enhances the overall experience.

Just get it and listen. You won't be sorry!

Gwen Frazier is no stranger to ghosts. She sees them in pools of water, windows, mirrors - any reflective surface - at the scene of violent deaths. But finding justice for the dead is something she’s not trained to do and a luxury she can’t afford. What pays the bills is her work as a psychic counselor who sees auras and interprets dreams. The death of her friend and mentor, Evelyn Ballinger, brings Gwen back to the small town of Wilby, Oregon, and brings back memories she would rather forget.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This is an ok book and because it is the second in a series, it is worth listening to as a way of following the broader story. However, Krentz is a better writer than this book shows. It is not a book I am left wanting to listen to over and over again.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jayne Ann Krentz? Why or why not?

Yes, I have every unabridged book Krentz has on audible in my library, not to mention the physical reads of her work I have. She is one of the great writers of the romance genre and well worth trying. But I would not make this book your first.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes, Tanya Eby is a good narrator.

A fabulously fun, romantic comedy from a dynamic new talent. Nothing fazes Taylor Donovan - not in the courtroom and not in her personal life. So when she’s assigned to coach People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for his role in the next big legal drama, she refuses to fall for the Hollywood heartthrob’s charms. Even if he is the Jason Andrews.

What did you love best about Just the Sexiest Man Alive?

It was a fun and interesting romp through the world of celebrity and how a spoiled celebrity might meet and fall in love with someone not in the public eye. The sweetness of the relationship between Taylor and Jason and the way they keep each other (and us) laughing makes for a very touching romance.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Just the Sexiest Man Alive?

I loved the way Julie James orchestrated the first meeting between Taylor and Jason. His shock and unbelief at her reaction to him and the situation in which she left him really drew out the humor.

What does Karen White bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A good narrator helps bring stories to life and aides the imagination in creating the scene in the mind's eye. Karen White is a good narrator.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Spoiler: Loved the scene at his premier when she tells him she loves him. The kiss on the forehead Jason gives her is an "awwww" moment.

    Any additional comments?

This is a book I've already listened to three times. It has been satisfying every time for the fun and the romance. Little sex and only at the end so if you are looking for a hot or erotic read, this is not for you. However, looking for a really good romantic comedy, this book will more than satisfy.
