  • Influencer: The Power to Change Anything

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, David Maxfield
    • Narrated By Eric Conger

Everyone wants to be an influencer. We all want to learn how to help ourselves and others change behavior. And yet, in spite of the fact that we routinely attempt to do everything from lose weight to improve quality at work, few of us have more than one or two ideas about how to exert influence. For the first time, Influencer brings together the breakthrough strategies of contemporary influence masters.

Ahmed says: "Not the book for everyone"
    "Not the book for everyone"

Influencer is not the book that you might think it is. If you are looking for something on how to become a change agent then this book is for you.

This book is very well researched by its Authors, they include many examples to support the concept they are talking about; Mainly how to influence change, which is broken up into different strategies and each chapter focusing on one of them. So many examples are included hence the 8 and a half hours.

The plus side of this audio book is that if you are someone who is interested in understanding people better, or you work with people, especially psychologists then this audio book is for you. Some of the stories used as examples where a certain strategy was implemented and worked were interesting to know of, some I had heard of before but not in detail.

However on the downside the book is long and can get a bit boring dragging on and on, I reached a point where I just wanted it to finish but I spend almost 1 hour going to work and 1 hour coming back so I had the time to go through the entire book. I know some of you will not be able to.

All in all the good content (especially the real world examples used) out weigh the one negative of this book, that its too long.

So if you are someone who wants to learn strategies to aid you in influencing change on an organization or community level then you will appreciate this book and what it teaches you. I have an interest in psychology so there you have it why I did not rate this book less than 4 stars.

My recommendation to who ever is thinking of getting this audio book is don't, rather buy the book and read it at your own pace.

  • Making Ideas Happen: Overcoming the Obstacles Between Vision and Reality

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 8 mins)
    • By Scott Belsky
    • Narrated By Don Hagen
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

How the world's leading innovators push their ideas to fruition, time and time again. Edison famously said that genius is 1 percent inspiration, 99 percent perspiration. Ideas for new businesses, solutions to the world's problems, and artistic breakthroughs are common, but great execution is rare. According to Scott Belsky, the capacity to make ideas happen can be strengthened by anyone willing to build their organizational habits and harness the forces of community.

Amy says: "Great book. Great plan. Needs more Belsky."
"The ultimate blueprint for all creative people"

This book is a must read for anyone that has good ideas and struggles to take action to make them happen. The book is very well researched I cannot emphasize this enough. It gives you plenty of insight into the lives of creative leaders who can follow through and how they motivate themselves to make their ideas a reality.

You are guaranteed to understand in plain terms why so far you have been unable to execute your ideas and what to do about it in more ways than one. The author gives you the ultimate blueprint you need to focus, stay motivated and realize your ideas. I have to agree that the narration is a bit monotonous but don't let that hinder you from getting this book, the content is brilliant!

    • By O. Henry

When it comes to the holidays, no story brings us back to the true spirit of giving like O. Henry’s classic "The Gift of the Magi". • The Go-Giver: A Little Story About a Powerful Business Idea

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 23 mins)
    • By Bob Burg, John David Mann
    • Narrated By Bob Burg, John David Mann
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

The Go-Giver tells the story of an ambitious young man named Joe who yearns for success. Joe is a true go-getter, though sometimes he feels as if the harder and faster he works, the further away his goals seem to be. And so one day, desperate to land a key sale at the end of a bad quarter, he seeks advice from the enigmatic Pindar, a legendary consultant referred to by his many devotees simply as the Chairman.

    Dan Clements says: "Wow!"
    "A timeless classic!"

This brilliant short story about Joe, the laws of success and business principles will fall into the likes of 'Think and Grow Rich'. A truly rich listen, highly recommended, especially if your business is not doing as well as you think it should be.

  • Clicks and Mortar: Passion Driven Growth in an Internet Driven World

    • ABRIDGED (3 hrs and 10 mins)
    • By David S. Pottruck, Terry Pearce
    • Narrated By Terry Pearce, David S. Pottruck

The phenomenal rise of the Internet seems to have transformed business as we know it. However, according to two men who have been at the forefront of the Internet's impact, some important things haven't changed: the future still belongs to passionate companies made up of passionate people. In Clicks and Morter, Schwab co-CEO David Pottruck teams up with leadership master and best-selling author Terry Pearce to show what it takes to build a high-growth organization in today's electronic environment.

Ahmed says: "Nothing about driving growth or passion here!"
"Nothing about driving growth or passion here!"

This is the most disappointing book I have come across audible so far. The book is supposed to be about passion and driving growth in today's internet driven world, instead the author gives you advice on things that really should be norms in business today. If you are a shady type of person that lacks business ethics and values money over your customers then this is for you. As for passion, if the author would start with a more passionate voice maybe I would have at least finished the book, but the dry monotone reminded me of my grade 8 physics master who used to lull the whole class to sleep. I had to turn it off. There is nothing about driving growth or passion here, instead its a pitch about how good Schwab is and how ethical they are, which takes me back to the first point I made, if you lack ethics in the way you do business and want to change that then this book is for you.

  • The Facebook Effect: The Inside Story of the Company That Is Connecting the World

    • UNABRIDGED (15 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By David Kirkpatrick
    • Narrated By David Kirkpatrick

In little more than half a decade, Facebook has gone from a dorm-room novelty to a company with 500 million users. It is one of the fastest growing companies in history, an essential part of the social life not only of teenagers but hundreds of millions of adults worldwide. As Facebook spreads around the globe, it creates surprising effects, even becoming instrumental in political protests from Colombia to Iran.

Phillip says: "Love the Book, but the interview at the end?"
"If you use facebook then this book is a must get!"

This is THE BEST audio book I have listened to so far. David Kirkpatrick does such a brilliant and awesome job in uncovering the facebook phenomenon and how it is changing our lives and the world we live in today, and he narrates the book so well that the 15 hours and 42 minutes go by so quickly you would wish it didn't end, which makes me sad.

I will definitely listen to this book again and again. If I could give it a 10 star rating I would.

The only thing left for me to say is THANK YOU & WELL DONE DAVID for such a rare gem.

  • The Winner's Brain: 8 Strategies Great Minds Use to Achieve Success

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 12 mins)
    • By Jeff Brown, Mark Fenske, Liz Neporent
    • Narrated By Don Hagen

Developed by two Harvard brain experts-a scientific, accessible approach to achieving success by retraining your brain to win. Ever wonder why some people seem blessed with success? In fact, everyone is capable of winning in life-you just need to develop the right brain for it.

    Roy says: "Elementary"
"The best analysis of the human brain!"

The information in this book is top notch. The authors give you an insight into how brain science developed and how it works. Not only that as the title states it goes deep into how winners brains differ. The section on focus helped me a great deal. Understanding that one piece of information on how best the brain can be focused has done wonders.

I have to agree with what other reviewers said the book could have been better read by someone else, however the information deserves a six star rating.

  • Linchpin: Are You Indispensable?

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By Seth Godin
    • Narrated By Seth Godin

There used to be two teams in every workplace: management and labor. Now there’s a third team, the linchpins. These people invent, lead (regardless of title), connect others, make things happen, and create order out of chaos. They figure out what to do when there’s no rule book. They delight and challenge their customers and peers. They love their work, pour their best selves into it, and turn each day into a kind of art.

Joshua Kim says: "Are You Also a Godin Fan?"
    "Simply Brilliant!"

This audio book is brilliant, highly recommended to everyone, especially those of you that were hit hard by the recent economic depression.

Definitely getting the author's other books.

  • Achieving Sensational Grades

    • ORIGINAL (1 hr and 33 mins)
    • By Lyndall Briggs, Gary Green

How much will poor grades cost you or a loved one? Would you like to conquer the toughest assignments, take better notes, improve reading skills, study more efficiently, manage time effectively, develop a crystal-clear and reliable memory, or handle the stresses of study and tests easily? Listening to the Achieving Sensational Grades program and implementing the guidebook's suggestions will help you to study better, not harder.

    Ahmed says: "Its Hypnosis Audio!!"
    "Its Hypnosis Audio!!"

I downloaded this audio book thinking it was a guide on helping you study, for example I find myself slow in making notes and wanted to explore better note taking strategies turns out its a hypnosis audio! I was completely mislead!

At first I was disappointed nevertheless tried it out and I have to admit its a really good hypnosis program, I cant emphasize enough on how good this actually is. It could be one of the best I have ever come across.

Then you also get an ebook emailed to you if you do purchase this. The ebook had all the content I was looking for so it made up for everything.

Would definitely recommend this...I have yet to report back improved grades but can say I do feel a lot less stressed out about my studies since I started listening to this.

Someone should mention somewhere that this is a hypnosis audio and not an audio book.
