"Sweet"
Yes. I love the story, the characters and the town.
Maddie. She's had a rough time and has been hurt but no matter how she tries to tell herself she's done with it all she leaves the door open a little in case there is someone who could make her believe again.
Having a story read to you always makes the details more vivid.
The dynamic between the 3 sisters is pretty real.
"The Beginning of an Epic Love Story"
I have recommended anyone wanting to experience the Outlander series to at least listen to the first book, if not all of them. Davina Porter is perfection when it comes to the voices and the accents. Sometimes I forget it's the same person narrating she does such a good job of making the characters so distinctive.
At this point I really don't have any other books to compare these to. I can't put them down. I want to know more about the historical places and figures, I want to visit Scotland.

They do have a TV series in the making for this set of books.
"Love This Trilogy"
The attention to detail was great but even better was the story of Ana and Christian. Anyone who has been in love with someone who has issues can relate. These characters are very well written and you care about what happens to them. You hope for them.
Christian as I think thru the series he has grown the most.
By the third book the narrator had lost a lot of that nasal valley girl sound.
yes
I would really like to see E.L. James write a prequel of Christian concentrating not so much on his early childhood but more when he meets Mrs. Robinson and the years leading up to meeting Ana.
"Narrator Voice"
Yes and I have, however, I also warn them about the voice of the narrator. I'm not sure why she chose to use a whiney "valley girl" voice for the character of Ana, but it was very hard to get past.
Not really sure there is anything currently out there with the depth and layers of these two characters comparable.
Probably not.
"Fifty Shades of Grey, Hollywood ruining another book because they don't take the time to get it right".
